Yopperpo… I think your chanced are pretty off LOL Not even going to consider that seriously. And thanks Classof2018app you’ve been really helpful. And yeah. I’m planning to take Physics, Spanish, Math 2, and US History subject tests. I’m already scoring 750-800 on Math 2. The reason I did badly on the SAT was that I had a stomach viral on that day. The week after I took it I scored a 2160…

And if the case with the majors is true, then i’ll probably only apply as a Math major. Also would something from before highschool help my case? I placed 2nd in the state of Utah in a math competition. Also I got a 232 on the PSAT if that helps.

Cal tech has only about 250 per class. Very high reach with grades. Invent something or do something over the top in your chosen field if you want to be considered.

I agree Torveux. Cal Tech is like my miracle school at this point and I don’t expect to be accepted :P

BUMP

Bumpppppppppppppp

I would say all UCs except Berkeley and LA will accept you. Stanford and Caltech are high reaches indeed(Your SAT is too low for their threshold…sorry to tell you that)

JHU is also a big reach(but lower than Stan and Caltech)

Good luck, though. Hope you can get into your desired university!

Thanks bbff1234. I just talked to my school counceler and she said that Berkeley and LA are like 40%. But according to statistics, doesn’t that mean that I only have a 36% chance of not making it to both?

please read and reply, I will chance anyone :)

I don’t think the EC activities are really that impressive, but the rigor of classes is. That being said…

Your GPA is a little too low for a lot of the top tier universities and your SAT score is only average. Your course rigor and class load is very impressive though so that may help.
