High Point university ?

I agree with mandy… my son decided not to apply and we are getting assaulted with emails to apply, letters, etc… all the while telling us to “hurry up and apply spot are going fast!” Its’a marketing tool. the concept of hurry up and join in before someone else takes your spot. My own D sent in a deposit two years ago early on… After the scholarship weekend she decided she did not want to attend. I can tell you we were cheerfully and promptly refunded our money. Many have second thoughts about many schools not just HPU there are always spots at the less competitive schools for the right student.

Lefty that’s funny, we had the same thing happen with our D who looked at HPU last year but did not apply. We were inundated with emails and letters too. By the way stcoprmater our D was interested in pre-med and we did get the pre-med adviser to give us some stats from the previous graduating class. She told they had 3 students apply to med school and 1 was accepted. Not very impressive numbers, so not surprised that admissions didn’t tell you!

mandymd, med school is very competitive and 1 out of 3 is not surprising since many med schools have 5% or less acceptance rates.

Luckydog, it wasn’t so much the 1 out of 3 that bothered us, it was the 3, which seemed like a very small number of pre-meds for a school this size. D is now at a much smaller school which has more pre-meds and a higher med school acceptance rate than HPU.
