I am interested in the FreshEx in Harrison but I hear that it is difficult to get into that program. Are the other high rises significantly different for freshmen? I know somebody who lived in one of the others and didn't like it because the dean is his advisor and she yells at him all the time.

I’m a freshman in Harrison right now, and I wouldn’t want to be in the other high rises. Even outside of FreshEx, Harrison puts on a lot of events that have made my time in Philly even better, and FreshEx really fosters a tight knit community among the freshmen. In Harnwell, freshmen are scattered across the building and have less incentive to get to know each other, as a lot of people in the high rises keep to themselves.

The Quad is popular because you meet a lot of people who like to party, but the living conditions are worse. In FreshEx, you meet less people through your dorm but will still become close with many of them. The other high rises lack either of those benefits for freshmen.

awesome. I hope I get in.
