High school class of 2016

Holy crap, did anyone else? Er mah gerd. I guessed every one elses right, crap.

I thought you were a guy, hailbo.
I’m a white guy.
@Apollo11 you like Animal Farm too?! I thought I was the only one!

I knew you were a guy Hailbo…

I liked Animal Farm, but most people think it’s anti-communism, when really it’s just about what happens when communism goes wrong.

@halibo I honestly thought you were a girl.
Chinese female.

Lol, Animal Farm thread…?

Actually, speaking of fine literature, what other ‘classy’ books have you guys read?

Here are some unknown books that you guys might enjoy:

 1. For The Win [About in-game currency and 3rd world countries. Insanely good+free on the author’s website]
 2. Epic [Also about a game, but really good]
 3. Nueromancer [Interesting, but could be misconstrued]
 4. Ender’s Game [BEST BOOK EVER. Orson Scott Card’s classic was a Nebula and Hugo finalist]
 5. Slaughterhouse 5 [A bit graphic, but by Kurt Vonnegut, a Dresden survivor, about a fictional Dresden experience]
 6. Brave New World [You guys might now it though]
 7. Cloud Atlas [There was also a famous movie with a bunch of Hollywood types about the book]
 8. The Book of New Sun [Really long, like Ulysses long. But so good]
 9. Ulysses [Really an 18-book saga of a modern day Odysseus. It is thousands of pages, even longer than War&Peace]
 10. Flowers for Algernon [AMAZING Book!!!]

There was another great book, I forgot the name, but it was about a hacker using his mind to hack and how too many people began to use that technology, which had a UI that did what the user wanted. From there, the collective will drove major actions, such as killing people of a certain race. But idk the name, so I guess I can’t tell you guys

Also, check out [Out of Print Clothing | Your favorite classic books on t-shirts and other merchandise](http://outofprintclothing.com/). It has a bunch of cool shirts/art based on books.

Wow, we have such a diverse mix on this thread.

I think we can all agree that we are pretty cool. We take AP Calc early like pro’s and do interesting things.

If I was to guess, we’ll all end up at a top-25 school or full-scholarship somewhere.

However, I think we should help each other. I mean more so than usual. I.e we should post scholarships, summer programs, etc.

It could be fun.

For example,

Anyone want to go to Germany for a year? The Congress-Bundestag Study Abroad program allows American students to live in Germany for a year, all paid for by the US Department of State. Even if you don’t know German, you’ll learn it really fast there.

One girl went from knowing no German to completely fluent after the program

Here is the URL:
[Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX)](http://www.usagermanyscholarship.org/)

Oh, I forgot to say something.

I play videogames. A lot.

My Steam account has logged me at over 4000 hours, but I think it might be around 5000 [some of my games aren’t on Steam].

I was ranked #1 at a lot of sports games [PC only] and set the World Record at the flash game, “Cubefield” [<–I did that in school, but it almost ended when my Algebra 2 teacher saw it. She let me continue when she saw my score]

I also run a bunch of Minecraft servers.

Another thing about me [Aren’t I so informative! Super long poster]:

I consider myself an audiophile [in training]. I have a lot of headphones, but I really like IEMs. I’m also getting my customs soon.

Lol, I hope you guys know what I’m talking about.

Also, I’m doing this to bump up the thread.

Lol, I’m currently the last poster on every thread on the 1st page of HSL

I noticed.
I’m a huge gamer, been playing since before I could talk (SNES).
Actually, I didn’t talk until I was around 6, and I started school a bit late. Little fun fact about me.
I secretly still have my Steam account, even though my dad didn’t like it for some stupid reason. But I don’t play computer games as much.
Helping each other sounds awesome! It’s what I want my real friends to do, but they try too hard to look cool so they don’t admit their interest in education.

^Same!

Wow, we are really similar and different!

Also, none of my friends know as much about the ‘college game’ as I do [they only know HYPSCM], so I wanted others to help out as well as people that I could actually help.

Can you tell me what HYPSCM is? And yeah, I’m pretty sure most people start talking about colleges in senior year. I think we found this site a bit too early.

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Stanford
Columbia
MIT

Also, I don’t think we’re early; We’ll just have a head start.

Oh. Should’ve known that. I was already telling myself I needed to be in higher classes than even juniors and seniors, but when I found this site I was like…oh, there are WAY better people here.

^Lol, same. I think I even spent like 3 posts raging about it! However, I think they give me the incentive to push myself, otherwise I’d be lazily spamming CC…oh wait…

It’s the weekend. You have an excuse.
I’m in a car right now, so I can’t possibly do any school stuff, right?
has internet

^Lol, you have internet in the car? Lucky!

Thinks of the road-trips that could have used some Wi-Fi

Yeah, we just picked up my brother from The Citadel in South Carolina.
I’m on an iPad right now. :D

^You live in SC? I live in CT, which is pretty cool.

I see Bugatti Veyron’s in Greenwich and [hopefully] intern at the US Navy Nuclear Submarine Research Base in New London. Also, the Jackson Lab has a base in Farmington.

^Basically I have a fun time, how 'bout you?

I never said I live in SC. I said my brother goes to The Citadel.
I sit here on CC, talking to a random dude.

You know we’re like the only people posting on High School Life right now, right?

^Yeah, I’m spamming the living daylights out of HSL. Also, sorry for the assumption. But I do hear that SC has nice beaches. Maybe you should check some of them out when you visit your brother, I hear the weather there is like Spain, so could be fun.
