LOOL x’D That’s rich

I’ll be in Debate next year.
I’m in Science Olympiad (mostly for competitive reasons, i have little interest in.Science)
I’m in QuizBowl (usually it depends on the year, but the team ranges from Average to Near Top in State)

A few kids at my school downloaded Halo, Minecraft, and Skyrim to the school computers, and hid the files in some random kid’s folder, so the teachers couldn’t find it. It was saved to the public drive, so you could technically play those games on any computer in the school.

So what is everyone doing during the summer? Any summer programs, cool trips?

@metsfanAJM: LOOL at least people at your school are smart enough enough cover their tracks. I know some people who do that and then save it on their desktop. SMH

I’m a Nigerian citizen, and going to an international school really depends on what school you’re going to. For instance, mine sucks, but there are some outside the city that are pretty good.

I have lived in the US before though, stayed in Maryland for four years before coming back. I prefer the US system over the British or Nigerian one by far. . .

^What is it that you like about the US system in comparison with the British one?

@Swinter

You have more freedom in what subjects you can do.
The standardized testing isn’t as much stress (for instance, the SAT is done in one day. IGCSEs or GCSEs take a month and it takes three more moths to get your results as they are marked by hand.)
There is less cramming generally, the British system is all about cramming.
There are Honors & APs
The school system is pretty straight forward (I always get confused with A levels, Sixth form, Foundation, etc)

The British system does make it much easier to get into British colleges.
For example, maybe 1-2 applicants [According to CC] will make to Oxford from the US because of the ridiculous conversion of AP to A Level scores [You end up needing 8+ AP’s with all 5’s] and vice versa

Also, likingyou:
This Summer:
-Setting up Cystic Fibrosis Center [Super Cool!]
-Doing Immunology Research
-Getting Volunteer Hours
-Working for my Congressional Gold Award [Currently at Bronze]
-Doing AP Work
-Self Studying AP Psychology and AP Human Geography

Sorry the link was confusing, the HOPE thing is actually called the HOPE scholarship. I guess I understand it because I’m used to it. Over the summer I am going to CANADA ( oh the irony) and volunteering at an Emory facility.

*volunteering in Canada

I’m counseling at a summer program for kindergarteners for two weeks in August. I’m in search of something else to do. Anyone know of any good programs in New Jersey?

^NJ has the best governor’s school…

True, but you have to be a junior to apply and I’m just a freshmen.

I have 9 days left of school with 2 more EOCT’s, 7 finals, 2 more AP exams left to take…my life is amazing!!!

I’m guessing you live in Georgia as well^

Wow. I checked CC yesterday and nothing was happening at all. Now I just had to catch up 5 pages. How come nobody’s on when I’m on and vice versa??

We have a secret agreement to get off every time you get on.

ahaha i haven’t been here in a while too. extra curriculars really have been eating away at my time. AND I WILL MAKE THAT FACEBOOK. aha.

Can anyone give me a brief synopsis of the last ten pages? I’m honestly too lazy to read that much.

CC is very slow compared with facebook. Talking on facebook often has instant messages so we don’t have to wait for the page to reload. Also clicking through pages is just plain horrible. Much easier to scroll up and down.
