wow. Tough Luck.

Are you guys taking any SAT Subject Tests over the school year?

i am re taking chemistry, didn’t do so well on that (750 … sobs)
i am also taking math I/II, chinese, biology, and US history :)

i’m so happy !!! my lab professor offered me a permanent internship during the school year and basically the rest of my high school career lol. Best part is, I get a stipend for doing experiments!!! I am also getting a paper published !!! yay

I really, really want to go to Columbia – great well-rounded education, superb location, amazing research opportunities yet room for humanities too!!! {plus that’s where ezra koenig from vampire weekend went…} Or Harvard, where my father went and basically my childhood dream… or MIT where science/math nerds congregate.

But sadly, my matches would probably include Barnard/ Boston College/ Brandeis… even though I’m in love with the first two right now!!!

@The Great Catsbyx - Don’t take Math1, Colleges don’t like it when you do both math 1 and 2.

But that still is a lot of Tests. I’m only planning on taking Math 2 and Physics along with Chinese as I’m planning on going into Engineering.

okay, i guess i’ll try to take math II then…
lol that’s not a lot of tests imo, a few are during november/october like chinese and chemistry. the rest are during june/may…
there are people in my school who have taken 3 SAT IIs on one day and have gotten 700+… but they are juniors lol

The reason I’m taking chemistry is that a lot of the science programs require chemistry or physics (and i’m better at chem even though my score proves otherwise)… I’m also pretty sure I can get a good score in Chinese with minimal studying. Bio and US History are requirements for my class instead of final exams. And Math II is a given for college.

Junior year I will take Latin, which I heard was realllllly hard.

Did any of you apply to the Ayn Rand essay contest for Anthem last school year?

The results came out today! I’m a semi-finalist; there’s 175 of us, but I’m still happy. :D

Nope. I was reading about it this spring when it was too late to write one and I thought maybe I’d do it this year. Congratulations!!!

Congrats, I’ve heard about the contest, but didn’t enter or anything.
(Probably because Ayn Rand rubs me the wrong way, but I digress)

Thanks! @Atlantic - I don’t completely agree with her “philosophies” either, they’re a little extreme for me…but I did enjoy Anthem from a literature standpoint!

When do you all start school? I start August 13.

August 12th

August 26th

August 19th

September 6th :D

September 4th! Wow, some of you go back really early…

Whoops I meant I go back August 12th. We go back early but you guys ended school in June.

Sept. 9th…I actually hate how I go back to school so late.

August 26th

Anyone excited for homecoming/spirit week?

September 9th and my school doesn’t have homecoming…
