High school class of 2016

2 tests 4 quizzes in one week… (not including summer work’s essays and projects)
And I didn’t even get to sleep in D:

Were you guys tested on any summer reading?

I need to get my sleeping schedule back on track. The earliest I’ve been waking up without going back to sleep is 12.

I had a test in AP World over the book read.

I had to read “The World That Trade Created” and write an essay about it for AP World. I’m expecting a quiz on it my first day back (8/19).

Would it be hard doubling up on Math with Pre-Calc and AP Stats? I’ve looked through a pre-calc book over the summer, and I understood it pretty well, but I’ve forgotten a lot of the material.

^Definitely not. I’m currently taking AP stats and a class that’s the equivalent of pre-calc and calc ab and I’ve had no problems so far. And I’m halfway through the quarter so it’s not the whole easy-because-it’s-the-beginning thing.

^ Okay cool. And I actually think the beginning is the hardest part of the year since you’re just getting to know your teacher and what he/she expects from you.

I’m really nervous about missing the beginning of school. :(

School starts in 11 hours and 5 of my classes are in a brand new, gorgeous building! :)

I hate making flash cards. Especially when you don’t know how to explain the significance of most of the words.

I’m probably going to kill myself when I have to wake up at 5:15 next Monday and then Even earlier for the next week and a half

Anyone else planning on touring some colleges next summer? It’s better to go in the school year to get a real feel for the school, but I’m only allowed one excused “college visitation day” at my HS. I’ll visit the ones I really like on weekends and stuff during the year. I’ll have to narrow it down in the summer. I have a lot of research to do first. If you are where are you planning on visiting?

I went to my first day of school today. I couldn’t go to sleep until 1 and had to wake up at 6. I’m soo tired!
How many hours of sleep can you operate with?

I did 3 hours when I went to work with my dad (ER) in the summer. During school maybe 5.This year I decide I’m goin to try to get 7-8 which requires going to bed at 9-10 so ill have to be on top of my homework and find a good routine. I wake up between 5&6 because the bus comes at 6:42. To curl my hair I have to wake up at 5, but toward the end of the year I woke up around 6:15-6:20 and made it. I’m upset because I don’t have any clothes, but I don’t have money either and I’m too lazy to actually go shopping or anything.

I haven’t been on CC for soooo long! I’ve been so busy with my internship and stuff. 6 days a week, and then studying right after!! I’m so glad today I got to leave home a little early.

I really want to tour colleges, but at the same time I don’t want to because I feel that if I fall in love with a college early on it will be DEVASTATING for me once I get rejected :(

Let’s all list our prospective colleges (totally apt to change within the next two years) in terms of reach, match, and safety!! I have a ton lol, and I’m interested in seeing all the regional differences!!

ReacH:

 • Harvard
 • Yale
 • MIT
 • Columbia
 • Stanford
 • UPenn

Low-Reach (I probably shouldn’t call these low lol):

 • Johns Hopkins
 • Georgetown
 • Tufts

Match

 • Boston University
 • Boston College
 • Brandeis

Safety

 • UMass Amherst (state flagship)
 • Northeastern

Match:
Tulane
Miami
American

Safety:
Howard
Hampton

Those are the only 5 I care about right now.
College isn’t really a big deal for me though.

I’m starting to really dislike my schedule. Sucks because its definitely too late to change it.

Aside from that, it feels a little weird not being a freshman anymore and realizing that I’ll be an adult and on my own in about three years. As for colleges, I have some in mind but I need to improve a lot before I start looking at them seriously.

Sorta similar to Catsby’s list since I’m from the same state…

Reach:
Dartmouth
John Hopkins
Georgetown
Cornell

Match:
Boston University
Tufts

Safety:
Boston College
Northeastern
UMass Amherst

Reach:
Stanford (please, please, please…)
Princeton
Notre Dame

Match:
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
University of Texas
Catholic University of America
University of Dallas

Safety:
New Mexico State University
…University of Texas at El Paso? Not sure if I’m gonna apply…

Hello all. How do you guys already have reach and match colleges? We’ve only finished one year of HS. For example, most of us probably haven’t done important testing like ACT and SATs yet.
