Can you guys believe our freshman year is halfway over? I feel so unaccomplished because we’re almost 1/8 done with high school and I haven’t done anything.

^I’m not the only one.

Also, while I am taking record-breaking level classes for my school district, it seems everyone else here is either doing the same or higher. It can be demoralizing so I have to stop comparing myself and start studying.

Speaking of record-breaking level classes, have you guys any idea of what classes you may be taking next year?

I hope:
adv sophomore English (almost guaranteed)
APUSH (most likely)
Analysis (?)
AP Chem (I really, really want to take this, if not, I’ll have to settle for adv chem)
Band/Full Orchestra (definitely)
Health/PE (required)
French III (I’m pretty sure)

Here’s what I’m planning for:

Honors Algebra II/Trig
Honors Chemistry
Honors English 10
AP European History
French III
Biotechnology (If I’m accepted into it)
College Sociology (Fall)/ College Psychology (Spring) (If I’m not accepted into Biotech)
AP Computer Science
Health (Fall) (Mandatory)
Computer Tech and Careers (Spring) (Mandatory)
Gym

I have no plan… ^^;

Applying to Prep Schools for sophomore entrance…I can say that looking at some of the stats on the chances thread is demoralizing…

I’m planning on taking:
10th grade English Honors
AP World History
Algebra II/Trig. Honors
Chemistry
Yoga
French III

@EveningSwan Holy crap that is one hell of a schedule! If you keep on that track, will there even be any classes left for you to take senior year? lol

I’m planning on taking:
H English 10
H Chemistry
H Brief Calculus (pre-calc and calc ab)
AP Comparative Government
H French 3 (pretty sure)
Dance (PE credit, lol)
and mebbe AP stat

So we’re posting schedules? Mine’s:

O Levels English Language III (argumentative essays/debate/etc.)
O Levels English Literature III
O Levels Higher Chinese Language III (we’d to learn Chinese since kindergarten)
O Levels E. and Adv. Math I
G/T Math I (half the class flunks this. And it’s already a selective class!)
O Levels Physics I
O Levels Chemistry I
G/T Chemistry I (supposed to be REALLY difficult)
O Levels Social Studies I (something like government/politics/international relations)
O Levels History III (we’re doing european history next year! + communist china)
Philosophy III
Research Studies III (do a year-long research project, write 10+ page report)
P.E. III

Basically, everybody takes the same schedule here, other than the 2 G/T subjects which you can qualify to take by being 1) Top 15-20 in the subject in a cohort of ~450, 2) 3.6 to take 1 G/T, or 3.8 to take 2 G/Ts. It’s gonna be some year.

Guess we can’t really compare the standard because the curriculum here’s different - and it prides itself on being tougher than the British GSCEs lol

The end of the first semester is almost upon our school (Two months!) and I’m so nervous. I have a low A- in one of my classes that I need to bring up and a low A in the rest.
Debate’s getting serious, too…I’m so stressed. Not getting a lot of homework though, which is good.

I think i posted mine somewhere. Also, BUMP!

I’m taking these classes sophomore year

US Lit H
US History 1 H
AP Bio
Pre-calc H
Latin 2 H
Instrumental (only one year though to fulfill the arts credit)
Maybe AP Chem??? Online classes lolol

@ Swinter Most of next year’s classes are the expected classes sophomores take with the exception of analysis and AP Chem, so…yeah :)

I can’t believe semester exams are coming up! For me, they’re the week after the next, so I’ve been studying my butt off.

For next year I’m taking
Pre calculus H
Debate 2 H
Spanish 4 H
Ap Psychology
AP World history
CHemistry 1 H
And English 2 H

The really really smart people in my classes are taking 3 AP’s next year but I don’t think I could survive xD

Schedules are such a bland topic…Shifting gears now.

How are you guys adjusting to high school?

I seem to have made the transition fairly well. I study a lot and I work hard, it’s odd though, I actually am finding everything interesting.

I’m adjusting pretty well. It’s hard to believe that my first semester of high school will be finished in about two weeks. The workload is more than I’m used to, but not too overwhelming. For once in my life I’ve experienced nervousness over my grades. I’m not very interested in any of my classes, but hey, it happens. What about you?

same. high school doesn’t feel anything different from middle school. just the same crap all over again (so negative but its true somewhat for me)

so i’ve been entering many essay competitions. i know its a long shot if i win something, but hey why not try? it’s just i feel that i’ve done nothing this year… last year i won all sorts of awards and i miss being in the spotlight.

I am probably the biggest procrastinator on this thread. Usually, I’ll spend like 2-3 hours on YouTube and CC and other stuff (You can tell because of my impeccable diction, tone and grammar throughout this forum). However, I get work done, usually at the last second, but I’m working on it.

Haha I’m a procrastinator too. Literally during the weekends I can spend hours browsing the webs and searching up useless information on Wikipedia. But now I’ve secured an internship, the one I really wanted at this oncology lab at Harvard Medical School, so that takes away a whole lot of my free time. I’m supposedly supposed to visit there every day, which can be tiring since I need to take the bus for one hour to get there and one hour to get back. I’m going to meet my mentor this Friday and I get to meet the faculty/tour the facilities!!! :)

Got PSAT scores back
