I suddenly awkward from quietly stalking this thread, so… Hi. Strangely, I live in the same city as sg12909, but I guess I haven’t met you yet. Good luck with those AP classes. 0.0.

Public high school…I’m guessing Clark or A-Tech?

Advice from a current 9th grader:
Choose your classes wisely! Don’t make the mistake of taking more AP classes then needed (like I did), because you need to enjoy your freshman year and take part in EC’s and other out-of-school activities! For me, high school was a pretty big transition and I did not expect the drastic change in the amount of homework I received. I can’t believe it’s been a year since I was an anxious 8th grader like you guys O.o
BEST OF LUCK! :D

Yes, I’m still going to the OHS- I’ll finish the school year here @Direquagsire Coronado. I was considering Clark and possibly Bishop Gorman. Where do you go? Did you do SAGE or the CBK talent search? I might actually have met you
Thanks, Mathguy

Which class did you take at sage? I did creative writing two years ago, and anthropology last year. BTW, did you know that there probably won’t be sage again this summer because the head German professor is moving?

I thought the reason was renovation, according to the website. I’m pretty sure people are organizing an alternate, similar program, though, since people got emails about what courses they would like.
I took desert ecology two years ago. You can probably find out who I am from that; there was seriously only 5 people in that class. 0.0. Last year, I took Psychology.
…Somehow, I get the feeling it will take a [really long] while for me to figure out who you are.

The assistant then/current head told me Dr. Villanueva was moving. Oh well, but you’re probably right that there will be other summer programs.
Anyways, did you do the talent search? I might see you at the ceremony, although I don’t know you
What ECs do you do too? I heard that Hyde Park has a really good orchestra. And are you on the mathcounts team? I do mathcounts at Bob Miller as a single elective- I think we got 3rd right behind you guys and Coral academy.

Talent search? No. I do Science O. Hyde Park won state for the 10th consecutive year, so I want to continue science O in Clark. >=D. I’m not in orchestra, but I’m pretty sure they’re awesome.
I’m on a mathcounts team, and I also have the elective. Bob Milled got third place in Chapter, not state, right? In state, Davidson got first, Hyde Park got second, and Coral Las Vegas got third. I don’t remember any other places. Did you compete or just take the elective?

Yeah we got third in Chapter and fifth in state. We never make it past state, but we do okay for a non-magnet public school. I’m not allowed to compete because I only take one course at Miller, though. How did you do on the sprint and target in state?

I did kind of well and got a 22 and 7 for Sprint and Target, respectively. Since Nevada is Nevada, I get to go to Nationals and get a free calculator . I’ll probably fail there.

@TheApplier: I’ve already decided on French. Currently my schedule is looking like this.
Pre-IB French I
Pre-IB English I
Pre-IB Biology I
AP European History
Algebra 2 Honors
Pre-IB Theatere Arts III

Waiting for my course notification which is suppose to come in; This friday.

We can’t take APs in 9th grade. Also, my spring break is in the 2nd week of April, so I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet. Maybe ACT and SAT Prep!

@Kysanx

Good job choosing French. Our course notification thing only arrives mid-April, so I’ve got some time to ago.
