High School Class of 2017

Uh…It wasn’t meant to be turned into that big of a deal, sorry.

omg! do you guys go to freakishly easy schools or something?

What do you mean by that?

it’s not obvious? i am wondering how you can all take so many ap and honors courses but still get an A! (at my school at least) it’s soo hard…

@Yakisoba
You think thats bad? I got a 53 on my math quiz last week. I was super ****ed, but I didnt have enough time to actually check my work like a really wanted to so I got that grade. Im bad a t time managment. I did the corrections though.

@Bin gington
What? Umm… No? My school isn’t easy by far…

No I don’t think it’s bad. I didn’t want to do it, so i got the grade i deserved. This is the one exception where I rage about anything less than an A. Annotations for my class take at least an hour, and ive got a lyfe to live.

well we have something in common, literature honors at my school is one of the toughest… like half the class has a C right now… the highest grade on the essays was a low B and the quiz we had was like the ap class tests where it asks you questions about little details from passages that no one would remember

Feel sorry for you blokes, my English teacher is the absolute best, she teaches well and everyone likes her.

Let’s compile as well as rate our schedules and our grades, sciencekid already did it, so I’ll do it and we’ll go from there.

Spanish 3 Honors (Pre-IB)- 93.7
Physics First Honors - 94.3
Pre-IB English I - 93.7
Pre-IB World History - 91.1 (likely to hit a 95 since we just had an easy test)
Algebra 2 Honors (online, joined late, classes full) - 97.8
Studio Art I - 96.7

SAT Practice Score- 1520 (atrocious)

My background- Indian (yes, from India)- American (born in the US)

CC has completely ruined my outlook on HS, I feel like every test/quiz/hw grade will kill me. It makes me believe that I MUST get a 2250+ on the SAT and be a Valedictorian and get 20 EC’s. My parents force me an hour of Barron’s SAT everyday. I just want to know how to and what to do in high school to make the most of it!

Also, @Yakisoba, I spent an hour of annotations a day and finished annotating the Odyssey after 2 months in class. Pre-IB is a ton of work, and we just started Julius Caesar (Shakespearean Sonnet) due tomorrow. I swear if my teacher wasn’t the best, the class would be living hell. The key to good students is a great teacher who knows what they’re doing. I CANNOT WAIT TILL SENIOR YEAR!

@ Apandia
You read theOdyssey?! Im still reading that. It’s a great book. Comparing grades?.. As fun as it sounds I’m not so sure but I guess it’s ok. My Biochem grade was updated and now I have 100.19 in it.

I’m gonna study for my midterms on Monday.i need to get at least a 98 on all of them ESPECIALLY on the Research one. That 87 has to go. It’s mandatory that I get a 100 on the Algebra one as well.

Why do you have to get a 100 on the Algebra one and how are you having midterms already?

Would any of you freshmen recommend doubling up in math?

@Thatoneweirdguy
Because it’s going to go down into the eighties after I practically failed my quiz as posted before- the score. I have midterms in the middle of the year and then finals at the end of each year.

@Mist
I would. Only if you’re good at math and can handle all of that work.

@mistamac

If you think you can handle it, definitely. I’m current doubling-up on Geometry and Algebra 2.

@ScienceKidd9

Yes, but how is your school already almost a semester into the year in November?

When did you start school science kid? And good luck on those midterms?! Also, an ultimate solution I would propose on doubling up is to do one online and one in class.

Haha an sciencekid good job on having over 100, it’s impossible in my school because no extra credit is allowed. This year they started to make assessments (tests and quizzes) 85% of our grade and “checks of understanding” (projects and homework) only 5% with the remaining 10% for a final exam. This school system is seriously choking.

@ThatOneWeirdGuy
I don’t even know, and i’m not going to question it. We didn’t even get our first report cards yet, so after the assessments we get them. Some people refer to them as Midterms and others, Assesments.

@Apandia
Thanks! Lol, your grading is incredibly ridiculous. I’ve never in my life seen such an unbalanced distribution of categories. You could seriously just rely entirely on tests and quizzes to make up your grade. No other assignment will change your grade unless some weight were put on them. My spanish participation points are cured by one point and my biochemistry labs are curved on the lab write-ups/reports. We do multiple Lab Reports. Like one every week.

I’m leaving the fourm forever. I’m sick of people trying to emphasize the dumbest things or constantly reiterating pointless things. Bye guys nice knowing you all. This probably isn’t as popular as Facebook for the sole reason that the people who created this are idiots. 90% of the stuff ever discussed about isn’t even school related or anything. It’s supposed to be an environment full of helpful and supportive individuals- which might I say some of your are, but the smart-Alec’s and *******s outweight such a thing. Best of luck to you all and peace.

bye
10char

I ended up with a 90 in one of my classes, ugh. It took me awhile to really calm down about it. Not gonna lie though, it’s my fault. That’s what happens when you get lazy.

Will any of you volunteer at a hospital during summer?
