High School Class of 2018

i am, failing, :)))) I love life :)))

What are you failing in? @praeda

Who else had off yesterday and today for the jewish holiday? I didn’t really get to do much since I had to teach myself the entire digestive system chapter and do essays and a take home test for AP Bio over the four day weekend.

Warning to anyone who decides to take AP Bio: make sure you really love biology because this class is INSANE and it’s only week two. I can’t even imagine taking it and not dropping the class if I didn’t love biology like I do. It might be easier if your teacher only teaches to the AP exam but our teacher teaches the entire textbook so be prepared if yours does as well. 65+ chapters in one year is just as crazy as it sounds.

Here’s some coffee to keep y’all goin over the next couple weeks: ~O) ~O) ~O)

I thought WHAP was crazy with 38 chapters so we’re essentially doing a chapter a week but AP bio seems twice as bad and science is generally harder to understand god damn

Hey guys, I’m really worried about my clubs and ECs. Honestly, do I really need to be in a lot of clubs. Right now I am in

Speech and Debate
Vice-president of STEM club
and I want to drop Math Club.

I want to join Academic Decathlon but that’s for 11th grade.

Your clubs sound fine as long as they include involvement and have something do do with your future major/career or are something your are really passionate about. The amount of clubs really doesn’t matter to colleges; its the impact/involvement that counts. I would also start volunteering too. I joined Hospice club this year which includes 3 hrs of volunteering every week(=commitment) so that’s three birds with one…club?

is anybody taking AP chem and Calc BC?

@pianoswim I’m taking calc BC.

The sophomore slump is coming to haunt me.

I’m so overwhelmed today. I heard my AP Spanish teacher telling me that he’s worried and that my Spanish is bad for the AP level. I felt so hurt because it took him 5 weeks to tell me that. I speak Spanish fluently but then I realized my Spanish (writing-wise) needs to be more excellent. Is anyone taking it this year?

@cxprus I’m just in Spanish 3 but don’t worry too much just work on it a bit more you can do it!!

@cxprus I like that word, ‘sophomore slump’. I’ve never heard that before, but I like that. Makes me think of the word ‘smart tart’ that my friend came up with to describe someone who is in all the hrdest classes.

Fortunately, I’m not experiencing it (yet). I’m one of those people who needs something to obsess over every minute of every day so hard classes are good for me.

@pianoswim How are you in 5 AP’s?!

I’m also worried because he’s like your in this level that your supposed to be in Spanish Speakers 1. Well, I don’t think I should be downgraded because I took Spanish 1 in 8th grade.

I am definitely experiencing sophomore slump. @cxprus

@pianoswim I’m not really using any book yet, but my teacher reccomends Kaplan so I will probably go with that. As far as the PSAT goes, I am studying for the October SAT and will then take that information to the PSAT a couple weeks later. You?

@aspiringgirl i took a bio test and ended up getting a 64/100 even though i studied for three days and got most of the terms right.

@cxprus I got 15/30 on my physics test. AP physics is making me nervous.
