High School Class of 2018

@Madeline25 I’m definitely applying to a lot of 7 year med programs because I’d prefer to cut off the extra year if possible (so yes to BU’s SMED- although it does want a chem SAT 2). But I also plan to apply to other colleges as a Pre-Med/Comp Sci major in case I do not get into any 7 year programs (and also having the Comp Sci degree would allow me to have a backup for med school). I LOVE Columbia, NYC is a personal favorite of mine but Boston is a super close second.

@Madeline25 Im no college or financial counselor but if you’re saving for med school do you think itd be smart to be shelling out big bucks for undergrad

My list is pretty short (and basic)…

UNO
UNI
Creighton University
Iowa State University
Northwestern University

But then again, I add/subtract a school like every two weeks…

@mamaba Boston is a great city!

@Hamlon the thing is in our class he tests things like after 1400 what happened in postclassical china and gives us four questions and stuff like dat

I WILL NEVER GET AN A IN EURO!!! :(( We just recently had a unit 2 quiz (tests material of half of a unit, 4 units total in the school year) and I got 16/30 for the multiple choice section and 27/29 for the LEQ. LEQ score-I was actually really surprised but yay! Multiple choice-…I THOUGHT I DID REALLY WELL…but apparently I didn’t… I am currently back to an 87.6% in the class. It’ll probably take me until the next Unit test to get an A… Which will then bring me back to mid-B range…So there’s my rant… :frowning:

Anyone have any tips for the MC questions?

There’s still hope for you, I have an 85% )):

@wonderfulreads Lol, same here.

@frazzledazzle Boston is amazing. Have you ever been? I have relatives that live right outside Boston, and I hope that sometime I could get a tour of BU.

@BucketsUCSC Yes, that will be a huge factor my family and I will take into consideration when the time comes to choose a school. Applying to Clemson and USC are a given for me. I was simply dreaming out loud. :slight_smile:

@wonderfulreads Haha same!

@tonyk16 Boston seems great. I’ve never been, but I really want to go.

@tonyk16 I’ve been there a few times. It’s really nice. Great sports. Great music. There’s lots to do there.

@frazzledazzle It’s been like 5 or 6 years since I’ve been there. Call me crazy, but the thing I remember the most is eating Roast Beef there. It is the best…lol.

@tonyk16 I went on a day trip there in March. I didn’t get to see much, but it was great to be there again.

I have a unit 3 test for AP World tomorrow, I currently have an 84% in the class and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to bring it up!

I love Boston simply because the entire city just feels like a little college town (I say little because Boston is literally the size of a neighborhood in NYC). It just has a great feeling to it and also GEORGETOWN CUPCAKES (literally the best thing on Earth)

@Phantomlink Study hard. I find that for me studying the night before is effective, but I feel that this system will fail very soon. Good Luck!

@mamaba Boston is basically the ultimate college town in the US. Over 50 institutions and 200,000+ students. I agree, it does feel like a college town when I visit there.

@mamba You haven’t lived until you’ve eaten Georgetown Cupcakes in Georgetown itself. I love that place. Hands down better then the stuff we got from Magnolia Bakery in NYC. It’s actually just on the edge of the Georgetown University campus. We walked between the two and the girl who worked there that we talked to the university.

@Phantomlink Ours is scheduled for Thursday. We just did a compare and contrast essays on the Mongols today. Not sure how I did.

Side note: I wrote the sentence about it being better than Magnolia Bakery after I wrote about my Mongol essay and almost wrote Mongolia Bakery lol

@madeline25 tbh I think Magnolia is good but I’m not sure it really deserves its huge reputation. Same with Carlos’ Bakery. Definitely not worth the long lines (sorry to disappoint anyone obsessed with the show)

@mamaba Yeah I honestly wouldn’t be surprised.

If I do IB then this would be my schedule:

IB English HL1
IB Spanish HL1
Theory of Knowledge
AP Psychology
AP Chemistry (IB Chemistry; but the students do the AP version)
Pre-Calculus/Algebra 2 (If I don’t do A2 over the summer)
iB History HL 1
