High School Class of 2019

Does anyone have any standardized test or final exams coming up? I have a final exam for my high school World History class this Friday. Fun…

I had the lovely new PARCC test a couple weeks ago and finals are going to be in a month from now, so yeah…
I’m currently taking 3 high school courses (Spanish 1, H Algebra 2, and IED) and the grades I get on those finals are going to be on my high school transcript. Meanwhile I could get low C’s on the finals for all my other classes without any negative effects (other than the horrified and shocked reaction of my parents.)

I took my first final, in January, in my Earth/Environmental Science class. It was easy and I made a 99 on it :). I have World History on Friday. For my 8th grade subjects, I have to take three EOG’s (End-of-Grade tests) and one MSL (Measurement of Student Learning). Social Studies MSL is on May 28, Science EOG is on May 29, English Language Arts EOG is on June 4, 8th grade Math EOG is on June 5, and my high school Math I (Algebra I) class is on June 9th.

The only three that actually matter/mattered and go onto my high school transcript/grade is Earth/Environmental Science, World History and Math I.

The Social Studies MSL doesn’t matter at all. It’s just another dumb test that actually does nothing to change your scheduling for classes. The three EOG’s (ELA, Science, Math) somewhat affect what classes you’re put in, but not really. As long as I make a four or a five, with five being the highest, then I’ll be fine.

Each new week makes us closer to the end.

I might put a picture of me on here

I only have three more weeks left! So close… Well, I’m volunteering and trying to make money in summer. I’m too young to work in a big chain store and I doubt I’ll be able to work in any local businesses.

Hey guys! Upcoming junior here. Just wanted to tell you guys to work hard next year, but not to stress yourself too much about high school. It’s important to stay organized, especially if you’re taking an AP class, and to avoid procrastinating, but you should also leave time to relax (but not slack off!). You will enjoy high school - it’s a lot more fun than middle school - and you will meet so many new people. If you guys ever need help next year, don’t hesitate to ask me for advice.

Some tips from a soon to be Sophomore (thank god)

  • Join sports and clubs. I suck at sports and I suck, but I gained so many friends that I wouldn't of had. SGA is the same way, but I like that.
  • AP students, this is gonna be a stressful year, but try to stay calm. I'm a huge procrastinate and was always behind... do NOT do this! APUSHers, buy and memorize AMSCO! It's like heaven on earth.

These were the days…

For the 2015-2016 school year schedule I have:

English
World Geography H
Biology H
Spanish III H
Geometry
Dance
Photography

All my classes are honors except for English and Math. Do you think this is a good start for high school?

Hello @kathrynt97! I think that is a good start, as freshman year is adjustment year. Taking too many hard classes may be tough for some people, so you’ll have to find your balance!

@Gatortristan What are you doing here? 0_0

@IrrationalPepsi Nah, I am up there thinking about college.

Haha, yo, it’s all good.

We should totally have a kik chat over the summer, that’s if you guys have time…
