@collegeyouth lmaooo, nope. I’m taking them my junior year. It’s better to take the subject test after taking the AP on it or so my cousin said.
My plan for subject tests is to do Bio M and German after sophomore year and USH and Math 2 after junior year. I may do chem and physics as well, as I’m looking into double majoring in Astrophysics and Cell Biology and Biochemistry with a math minor. Last summer, I did a bunch of Bio E practice questions, so I might do it this year after Honors Bio.
It seems as if you are overloading on the tests. I am only going to take Math 2 and Biology M. I am going to do Math 2 next year and Biology M junior year.
True. It’s likely that I won’t be able to take anything past German 2 honors, though. And I’m only thinking about doing USH. But all 3 sciences is probably too much, lol.
Taking Math Level 2 is like a must haha
Yup.
I’m not taking any this year. We’re only freshman
aha I’m planning on taking the Biology M test this year because i don’t want to laod myself with test junior year :-S i’ll be happy with a 720 :)) but if i don’t score as well I’ll take it after AP Bio
I want no less than 800s.
Guys, we should try to get to 1000 posts by New Years.
Yeah, let’s do it! And on another note, do any of you guys coach/help out with clubs at middle schools? I’m an assistant Science Olympiad coach at a nearby middle school.
Are most of y’all in public schools or private elite schools? I’m at a public school that I wouldn’t say is overly competitive, only good acceptances in last years class were Harvard, Stanford & Oxford…(what savage applies to international schools?) Are people like you common at your schools?
Public. The #3 of the senior class is applying to MIT, Harvard, Stanford, UCB, Yale, Caltech, and Vandy, if that says anything. Every other year is hypercompetitive, as far as I can tell; I hit an off year.
@awesomepolyglot
Omg, I love, Love, LOVE making schedules for people.
@collegeyouth
I’m taking Math 2 and maybe US History at the end of the year.
@IAmNotCreativ I would legit make that into a business if I could. Do you want to make a thread where all we do is get PMs from 8th or 9th graders and help them sort out schedules?
@jdecker9
I’m not really sure. Most of my friends are of above average intelligence/drive or are obsessive about certain things (public transportation, urbanization, social justice, ect.) and I’ve been friends with these people for a pretty long time. My social sphere consists mostly of these people and since I don’t spend much time interacting with people who are taking less advanced classes (since I’m not in these classes) I don’t really meet or spend time with people who aren’t like me.
I presume not, because in the one regular class I’m in, I’m treated as an anomaly. I’ve also been to a few social functions attended by others from nearby schools, there I was also treated as an anomaly.
People are usually shocked that I’m taking precalc as a freshman even though me and my friends view taking Geometry or Algebra 2 as freshman super normal and sometimes average.
I go to a public school ranked #8 in my state.
I go to a public school with around 2500-3000 people total and maybe 700 people in my class. I don’t think its competitive but there is probably a small number of competitive people
I don’t care though because I don’t care about valedictorian or class rank.
My classes break up into roughly:
Honors Geometry: 30% sophomores, 70% freshmen
Honors German 2: 4% seniors, 20% juniors, 8% sophomores, remainder freshmen
Gym: who effing knows
Honors Biology: All freshmen
Orchestra: 50% freshmen, somewhat equal mix of others
Honors English: All freshmen
APHG: 30% sophomores, 70% freshmen
yay ~guestimation~
@awesomepolyglot
Oh my god, YES, absolutely.
