My school doesn’t rank which means way less pressure for me. :))
@manspeak2u
I’m pretty sure most colleges want to see 3+ years in one foreign language.

Oh no…I don’t know if I can do 3 years of Latin…
@manspeak2u do you live in Virginia? And how does one find Latin fun? I took it in seventh grade and I STILL have nightmares about declensions and cases.
@awesomepolyglot I’m in Pennsylvania. Latin is not actually that bad. The vocabulary is much easier than Spanish because of the derivatives, but declining is annoying. Only people who have taken Latin know the pain of the 3rd declension neuter.
shudders And what’s up with having 7 cases, anyway? German is so much easier… that could just be my teacher, though.
glad i went with french…
@awesomepolyglot The cases try to be parts of speech, but fall very short xD
I’m taking French 2. I was actually supposed to go into H French 3 but my idio*** imbe**** French teacher didn’t transfer my papers to my high school. I have a better teacher now. He knows how to teach but his personality and attitude disgusts me. And like no offense but I wonder why we can’t get any French French teachers around here. We only get like African people with different accents and it is so difficult to understand them. I had to get used to my French teachers accent last year and now I have to get used to yet ANOTHER accent. So far I’m failing; I can barely understand that man. And then I heard my French friend speaking French with this BEAUTIFUL neat French accent; I literally fell in love. But well. . . also I’m doing French until the end of high school but next year I might have to take AP Spanish Lang.
Oh yeah and @IAmNotCreativ we cannot go into AP physics 1 next year. Basically, the AP Chem and AP Phys 1 teacher is the same. And he switches the subject every year. So this year is AP Phys 1 and no AP Chem and next year will be AP Chem and no AP Phys 1. I’m not gonna be able to take that next year but ik you will be able to as you’re taking chemistry rn. But you might have to modify your schedule cuz remember AP Chem is double period.
Ranking is somewhat flawed. The kid that is going to be ranked first is in all the same honors classes as me, but he is taking PLTW, which is weighted as 5.0/AP. All of his grades are low af A’s. He may slip up One B would send him lower than me. Haha, I am a very competitive person.
And I am going to start Spanish next year. I could actually be done with all four levels in two years, but I am going to spread it out in three.
What is your prospective schedule for next year?
AP Bio
Honors Chem
Honors English 2
Honors Orchestra
Honors Algebra 2
PE2/Astronomy or sociology
Honors German 3 (if offered) or AP Physics 1 or Honors Ecology
Of course, somebody is going to try to make me take WHAP or AP Euro, but I have exactly no interest.
I actually changed my schedule already. I decided to take AP Chem next year instead of senior year because I want to take more advanced chem classes.
AP Chemistry*
AP Calculus BC**
AP US Government & Politics
H English
H Spanish 3
H Health***/Art (Choir or Ceramics)
Honors English 10
AP NSL Government
AP CS
AP Spanish Lang
Honors Chem
Honors French 3
Honors Precalc/ AP Calc BC
I’ll see if I wanna take Precalc over the summer. If I don’t feel like it I won’t but yeah.
The Civil War of the Class of 2019
Im dying :))
I have a question. How are you all planning to take pre-calculus and calculus as sophomores? My daughter will take Geometry Honors in 9th, Algebra 2 Honors in 10th, Pre-Calc in 11th, and Calculus in 12th. This is the most advanced track offered at her school.
hi. I’m class of 2019 too but can I diverge from this a bit. Im class president and I need ideas for class activities this upcoming winter term and Im at a dead end. All ideas are appreciated and big things and little things as well as medium stuff work too.
um, iflycuzican, most schools(at least mine) places students in math levels dependent on ability shown as well as what they student and teachers feel is good for them. Im in 9th now and by next term Ill be taking Pre-calc. Some other people will be done with Calculus by next term who are still in 9th
@black1234 What will you take in 11th and 12th?
