Does this mean that they are done with selecting candidates from other states and now they are moving to Michigan from where a bulk of the students are selected ? Any thoughts?

quantumbyte, how could we know that? There really isn’t any use in baseless speculation.

Sending in my form to decline the offer tomorrow via email. Hopefully, one of you gets my spot!

I stil haven’t heard from them yet. Really nervous about the what will happen.

@studiosmaximus, I am curious what the process is and in what order the applications are picked up ? Based on SAT score/GPA ?

Sure, we’re all curious. But we just don’t know. Asking a question with an unknown answer really won’t get you anywhere. If you’re truly curious, you could email Dr. Richmond and ask yourself. However, I doubt she’d tell you anything.

No worries studiousmaximus. This question is also addressed to past participants of HSHSP who have worked closely with Dr. Richmond and may have an insight into this

Or worst case, it is LIFO. Those who sent in the application close to the deadline had their file up at the top that she reviewed those first. Anyhow…

@msav22 I wish you had picked HSHSP, but have an awesome time with SSP! Looks like an amazing program.

Accepted as an alternate. Can anyone with some background guess what my chances are of getting accepted? How many alternates are there?

Alternate. Does anyone know how they pick who gets picked from the alternates if someone in the acceptance pool declines to go? I dont know about the chances of getting accepted as an alternate, CyCyCyCy, but I can say that three of my close friends were alternates and only one of them made it into the program.

I’m an alternate as well, and am also very interested in the above questions. Really hoping to get in, as I’ve already been rejected to RSI/SUMaC, but I want to be realistic about my chances. Good luck everyone!

Accepted as an alternate… Now we wait

wow, if alternate decisions have come out already, does this mean i’m rejected?

eh. I can’t post "eh by itself so I’m adding this sentence. There.

Probably not. It goes in waves. Don’t be discouraged until you get something definitive. And Lacrossegirl123; shut up.

Has anyone accepted that plans on attending a different program?

Msav22 is going to SSP instead

lacrossegirl… I honestly have no idea what’s going through your head, but it’s just uncalled for to say that someone has no chance at being accepted or chosen as an alternate at this point. Unless Dr. Richmond said “At this point, ANYONE who hasn’t received an email is rejected. End of story,” it’s unlikely that you know any more about the selection process than the rest of us. (Also, saying “shut up” doesn’t really reveal much about one’s perspective. It just reveals that people are getting annoyed with you and want you to quiet down a bit (i.e. shut up).)
Plus, I’m quite sure Studious wouldn’t consent to sharing a womb with you. Just taking a wild guess here.

I’m sorry, but if you have no empathy for those still awaiting a response, don’t say anything at all.
