How much would having a high school internship related to your intended major help? I.e. in a law office for pre-law or poli-sci

It helps a lot. It shows your really passionate about your major and you’ve actual done things to prove that. I actually interned at an assemblymembers office in high school for a political science internship. just be consistent with the internships and other extracurriculars you do

I would say that they can really make or break an application. I believe in hands on experience and education. A high school can’t provide you with that kind of exposure, and it can’t show you what you are working toward either. I’m currently completing an internship in a lab and the work I am doing is not only benefiting society as a whole but giving me an in-depth understanding of a field that I am passionate about. More importantly, internships open the door for you if you would like to continue to work outside of the regular summer internship. I know my internship helped me in that regard.

I’m not sure what they would really have a pre-law or poli-sci kid do, but at least for science you do more than clean tubes!
Plus, the letters of recommendation don’t hurt ;)

Thanks guys! That was what I was hoping it’d do since I’m not 100% sure about my intended major
