High School Ranking

How do you know what your ranking is out of everyone in your grade? Do you ask your Guidance Counselor? What I mean by personal ranking is 1 out of 500 students in your grade.

yeah ask your guidance counselor

I don't mean school I mean personal ranking in your school.

Ask anyone in the counselor's office and they'll have it looked up for you.

Wow...That seems nervewecking. If you're number 1 it'd seem weird when the Guidance Counselor tells you. Should I ask end of my freshman year next year or end of Semester 1?

Well if they calculate it at the end of the semester i guess ask at the end of the semester.

most of the times it is placed somewhere on your transcript. at my school, sometimes (i'm not sure when) it's not there (official vs. unofficial? it's weird, sometimes it's not there, sometimes it is, and sometimes it's a precentage instead of a ranking. but on official ones, it's a ranking). and i'd wait until at least start of 2nd semester of your sophomore year to worry about it. during freshman year most people don't really take as many core classes, and many schools have required unweighted classes (health, etc), although your school might be different. also, i know that my school turns in grades AFTER the end of the semester, so don't go bugging your counselor before all the grades are in.

my transcript didn't show a ranking until the end of my junior year.

Why bother asking masterus? You know you'll be number one.

lol . . . it sounds like he already thinks he's #1. Ask at the end of the year, the first semester should be a little too early. But rankings are only really counted at the end of junior year, because that's what goes on the transcript.

hm this is an old thread . . . it's like a month old.

We get papers in 1st period that list our rank on them, usually in January.

our isn't there till september of your senior year.

My question was already answered so there is no need to pursue any further.
