High School Spanish

On the website it says that “For most BU programs, the recommended high school/secondary school curriculum includes: Two to four years of a foreign language”

Does this mean 2 to 4 years of a language must be taken IN high school? or rather that 2 to 4 years of high school level language must be completed before graduation?

I completed two levels of high school Spanish in middle school, and completed another year and a half in high school. Will it be a problem if my 3 and a half years of Spanish weren’t all completed in high school?

thanks!

I took two years of Spanish in middle school that constituted one year of high-school-level Spanish, so even though I only took Spanish through my junior year, I completed Spanish 4. I’ve always understood that this is no different than taking all four years of Spanish in high school, so I think you’re good!
