I am currently wondering about college admissions, specifically the transcript. When applying to a college do I include classes that I took in middle school such as algebra 1, geometry, and biology. If so, would they focus on the grades I earned in these classes? Any help would be much appreciated
You do not include anything. On the common app, it asks you to list your senior year courses. Any classes earlier than that will be referenced by the transcript, which the school, not you, provides.
Schools vary whether they list HS courses taken in MS; generally it is listed on the transcript, but check with your GC. Regardless, the grades you earned in MS (regardless if it was a HS course) are disregarded in the college admissions process.
Algebra 1 and Geometry can be listed on the Cal State and UC applications but the grades will not be included in your GPA. For Cal States/UC’s, they use 10-11th grades only. As @skieurope stated above, the common app has different requirements. You need to look over the requirements for each type of application.
thank you so much for the information, do you know if the same applies to the ivy league colleges?@skieurope
