High School Transcript Woes

I don't know what to do. I submitted my UVA application and all of my college transcripts. I have been out of high school for over ten years. I received a GED 12 years ago and sent a transcript for that.

Then I find out they need an actual high school transcript too. I went to high school hundreds of miles from where I live. No one in the records office returns my calls. There is no published process that I can find to request them.

I have designed all of my education the past year and a half to getting in to UVA. Spent hours on essays.

I don't want my high school transcript from 12 years ago to prevent my application from being read. I just can't get any help from my old high school and at this point if they mailed it yesterday it probably wouldn't get there on time.

I just want to cry. Any ideas if there is someone I can talk to about this requirement???

Have you called the high school during school hours? Has no person answered the phone? These aren’t the sort of things that schools throw away.

Also, have you read the transfer blog? I’m not a transfer expert, but someone who is writes the transfer blog.

I have been calling during school hours and will keep relentlessly trying, but I am afraid even if they get back to me or answer at this point they will never be able to get a transcript to UVA by March 1.

They can fax it and then follow up with the hard copy.

That’s encouraging =)
