Hello all! I’ve been a lurker on this website for a while and finally decided to get an account so i could ask this question.
First of all, some background about me:
17 year old white male
from Chicago suburbs
ACT: 33 (superscored, I have an equivalent of a 34)
SAT: 2200
GPA: 3.736 (weighted) 3.333 (unweighted)
Anyways, I’ve decided to pursue my dream in working in the music business industry, (for a record label, etc.) My plan is to major in business and minor in music (with a focus on composition and production, recording technology). However, that’s where I’m stuck.
- For working for a record label, what sort of business major should I focus on? In looking at the business programs for some schools, theres everything from commerce business, to business management, to marketing, to sales. I'm not completely sure which degree would be the best for what I'm looking for?
- What are some schools that have good business programs with an equally good music program that I could possibly make?
Thanks!
