We all know that most elite private schools accept your highest combined total for your SATs. Obviously it is better to score extremely high in one sitting, but I was wondering if it would look nearly as good if your highest composite was 2300+.
I didn't do so hot on the Mar. SATs. I got a 2190 with a 770 writing. I also took the old SATs in January and got a 1490 with a 760 verbal. Im going to retake the new SATs one last time, and I hope to get a 780+ math. If I can get say, an 800 math and use my 770 writing and 760 verbal from the previous tests, I could get a 2330...but would colleges think much lower of me, seeing as how I needed three tests to get the same score that many achieved in one?

i would say it all depends on the college that you want to go to. one of the girls in my schools' senior class' ex-boyfriend took the SAT 7 times and he was still accepted to Georgia Tech.
