HILC( holland international living center)

How many peopel have experience there, is it nice? pros and cons of this place?

or would the Latino Center have more pros than cons than this place?

oh yea, sort of urgent, help..

Only thing I can tell you is that HILC is snuggled in North while the Latino Living Center is in frat/sorority land....I think Kappa is next door

I think the visible pros is that it's opened during Christmas break.
FYI, I also heard from my guy friend, housing in the North is way better than in the West (less hilly, better cellphone connection).

the latino living center is great if you like isolating yourself with other sterotypical latinos...

HILC is a bit more diverse, though it does have lots of asian students b/c HILC is open year round and works well for those who cant afford to travel home during shorter college breaks...

HILC is bigger and better than LLC...

it is the best of all the low rises

Is it advisable for freshmen to stay there instead of a normal dorm?

Unless you're a student who lives overseas or otherwise can't afford to go home for winter break (housing mostly limits to overseas students) then HILC is probably not the way to go.

it is THE way to go!
people in there are generally very friendly~
you will meet people from all over the world
(unless you are thinking of joining a frat in the coming years... international students are generally less keen on such things so you will need to find new friends when you pledge(?)

something tells me fd36 has never been to and probably never associates with the LLC. what a stereotypical and ignorant thing to say.

the llc is an open community which is made up of people from all over the world.

also, just to clear up from an earlier post…neither of these places are on west. they’re both pretty near each other on north (near relative to the scale of the entire campus, anyway.)

It doesn’t really matter at the end which dorm you get placed into imo. What matters more is the people you get placed with and that’s just entirely random. That being said, HILC is a pretty decent place (just like everywhere else), but at the end don’t stress where you live too much.
