I am a transfer student and was wondering what my chances of being accepted into these schools under these majors:
USC - undeclared engineering or undeclared general
UCLA - mech. engineering or physics
UCSB - Mech. engineering or computer engr. pre
UCI - mech engrineering or computer science
UCB - manufacturing engineering
UCR - mech engineering or computer science
UCD - mech engineering or Computer science
UCSD - mech engineering or computer science
CPSLO - Mechanical engineering
I have been accepted into Cal Poly Pomona but would really like to go to either to UCSB or USC. I have a 3.24 g.p.a. from a california community college, have some G.E.s including Alpha Gamma Sigma and dean's honor list, I work and I am a hispanic in the lower income bracket and first to attend colllege. I have not completed all prerequisites( differential equations and one physics course)

BUMP. please I need help anyone?

I went to Cal Poly San Luis for Mechanical engineering. I believe it has a better mechanical engineering program than any other program you are looking at (UCLA/UCSB/UCR/UCD/UCI/UCSD).

There is also a very active program for hispanic engineers at Cal Poly which has presented many hiring opportunities to its members.

That being said, I don't think your chances are good at UCLA/UCSD/USC/CPSLO. I don't know the other schools.

It's possible, I don't know enough to accurately say.

out of the four I dont have a good chance at, rank the competiveness of each school for engineering please

I (edit: don't) understand what you are asking. Rephrase.

ummm well out of the ones I dont have a good chance at these schools (ucla, ucsd, usc, cpslo) I would like to know which one I'd be closer to getting accepted to. I kind of had an idea that ucla, ucb and cpslo were out of reach but i heard that usc has a different selection criteria.

Hardest - Least Hard.

UCLA - UCSD - USC - CPSLO

You may be able to get in. I guess UCR and UCD are easier. You may want to check with specific engineering department at each school. Some departments may require cut off GPA in math and sciences.

Hopefully your right. USC is my dream school.

cooloweather, what school did you say I may be able to get in to?

Except for UCB and UCLA which are difficult for many people (it does not mean you are excluded), you may be able to get in some of the schools on your list. UCSB is possible. Keep your hope. I am not familiar with USC, but you may able to get in too. On the other hand, Cal Poly is decent too. You also need to think about the work after you get in UC engineering schools. Upper engineering division classes are hard to get high grades.

Hey Mr Payne I got into UCSD and SLO and SD arent even spoken in the same sentence
