History/Economics Joint Major

I am wondering if pursuing a joint major in these two departments is difficult and if the course load is high....
Would it be better for me if i major in one and minor in the other
or
should i just choose one and major in just that?

Since im applying to goizueta, i probably need a high gpa and if doing a joint major or doing major/minor will pull it down.... i dont want to do it..
plus, i have ap macro/micro credits so i already finished receiving credits for prerequisite courses....

can anyone help pick me whether i should pursue the joint major???

I think you’ll be fine in those majors. If you go to almost every econ class, then you’re already doing better than a lot of my friends.

I don’t believe it’s allowed to do a joint major AND go to the b school. You can choose either a joint major, double major, or major and minor. I looked briefly on the Emory College website but couldn’t find anything. You might want to email one of the academic advisers in the Office of Undergraduate Education in Emory College or the admission office.

It used to be difficult but not impossible to go to the b school and major in the college, as the requirements are quite different. However, the new GER system might have made things easier. Your PACE adviser will be able to give you more direction.

heyy wanted to bump this. is joint major and b-school really not allowed? because this messes up my plans and i’ll have to major econ and business, not econ-math and business.

this will definitely be a high course load, but at least you will be taking a lot of courses within the same school, which helps for distribution requirements a lot.

If you’re an econ and math person, you probably don’t want a BBA. I don’t understand why so many people rush into a specialty in business. Don’t you want an MBA?
