For admissions?

haha yep. for admissions. i know it sounds pretty absurd.

It doesn't. The de facto ratio is 8:3 because half the guys here are gay.

But it STILL doesn't help, believe me.

Just sayin'.....

Sweet. Then that means more chicks for the straight guy. WOOHOO.

but the real question is "do you want the chicks here?"
and ill answer that too. No.

It doesn't, I've looked into the statistics. IIRC, guys actually hav ea slightly lower admissions rate than girls

LOL the chicks here are...impossible.

Don't go on CC if you want to talk about women at NYU... you will get some wrong opinions from these people. If you look at more extensive statistics you will see that the admission rate for men and women is equal, what i mean is that alot more women apply, and NYU accepts like 30 percent of them, and alot less men apply and nyu accepts 30 percent of them. Therfore there are more women accepted and enrolling than men. Simple. I am guessing that it may be harder for a girl to get accepted than a guy. but I cant say that for sure because i've seen some very all around stupid people here. You also have to take into consideration the fact that NYU has a school of education and nursing which tend to attract lots of women.

and in regard to the dating scene, I dont really see there being an advantage or a disadvantage for either gender, guys get with girls, girls get with guys, it happens. But there are floors in some dorms where there are like 2 rooms of guys, and the rest girls. But thats NYU for you. If you put in an effort youll find someone

For gay people, on housing, do you indicate that you are gay? Would you be housed with another gay person or a straight person? What if someone was uncomfortable with a gay person as a roomate? Just wondering.

Is that a serious post? I'll answer part of your question, there is nothing on the questionaire about being 'gay' or 'straight'... Its all random. And it's not like everyone at NYU is gay, its just a higher percentage than any other school. Besides, gay guys attract lots of girls (as friends of course) and a roomate can benefit from that...

I don't think NYU will purposely put two gay guys in one room.

Why not. Just because they are gay doesn't mean they want a relationship with each other. By that logic, they should pair up gays and lesbians. Would that be a better match.

hey, i was just kidding. no need to get so riled up there buddy.

maybe he takes things too seriously, or maybe he's gay himself.

"Besides, gay guys attract lots of girls (as friends of course) and a roomate can benefit from that..."

I haven't benefited from that yet. Stop lying.
