Thanks for your help

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH YOU APPLIED TO VIRGINIA TECH FOR BUSINESS?

Dude just.. wow.. i think u just committed academic suicide for the next 4 years. At least try for James Madison for business.

AND YOU ARE out of state? ahaha omg this is like me applying to UNC chapel hill from Virginia when I would have a better chance and future at University of Virginia. You are INSANE. Absolutely INSANE. V-tech sux for business, you are out of state so its harder, the tuition for out of state is RIDICULOUS, and you could probably actually go to better business schools like Babson or Purdue or Penn state. ahahah.....

ok, its acutally reasonable out of state, and its in the US News list of top undergrad business schools. any real opinions?

I would say youre definitely in.

how hard is for an international student to get into VT?

you're in.......it's easier for international students because they pay full tuition.l

you're in.

if you're sat's where 1400+ I would have aimed for Michigan, because you would get in.

i wish they were 1400 plus, that would have been nice.

how long have u been living in virginia? 16 for me. have any relations to people graduated from vtech? I have. Enjoy ur 35,000 salary.

I don't live in VA you idiot...

bumpppppppppppppp thanks

"I don't live in virginia you idiot"

Thus trust the opinion of someone who does. I'm surprised you failed to see that point. The thing is, VT is not known AT ALL in virginia or anywhere else for its business programs. James Madison is where the UVA rejects go for business, not Tech. Tech is where the engineering rejects from UVA go to.

I don't get where you get off TELLING ME that Virginia Tech is good in business when I'VE lived here my whole live and have connections through my father (UVA business graduate) and his company and other employers. I KNOW about colleges in virginia as well as their specialties and avg job salaries/availibility. VT being ranked 72 overall by usnews and unranked by businessweek is NOT a good sign.

You could get into Purdue Krannert Business Management or Penn State with those stats and they are NOT ONLY ranked higher overall by usnews but they are actually RANKED on businessweek AND are ranked higher in business.

Edit: Actually, whatever, just go to tech, the more ppl that make bad decisions the better for me.

JMU is a party school; however, the male:female ratio is around 1:2. You may want to check it out ;) .

Duke is right. Tech has no recognition for business. Are you sure you didn't want Virginia? Sorry.

It's ranked 38 in the US News ranking, which puts it in the top 10 percent of schools in the nation. I couldn't get into UVA. I'm also looking at UConn (already accepted) but I like Tech a lot more.

Not to be rude, but you should know that US News doesn't (necessarily) matter. Reputation is what really matters, and Tech doesn't have any business reputation. A Virginia joke goes, "What's the difference between a student at Tech and a student at UVA? The one at UVA got in to both." Although it's a respectable force in football, Virginia Tech simply does not have the reputation.

Especially if you have already been accepted at UConn, you should SERIOUSLY consider attending there. I understand if you want to get away from home, and hey - to each his own - but I just want you to be fully informed before you make a decision like this.

but isn't it competitive and well-known in engineering??

yea it's well known in engineering, but apparently its not a "good" business school

by the way, BusinessWeek ranks the schools on their website for MBA programs, so I don't think you can just say Tech is a bad business school based upon these rankings, seeing as I would be going as an undergrad
