What are my chances at
HYPS
JHU
Georgetown
UCB
Washington Univ. in St. Louise?

Please please respond.
Thanks!

if you're not satisfied with a 2080 then take the ACT in September

HYPS - reach, they are reaches for everyone. Work on the SAT score.
JHU - eh, match, I'll say
Georgetown - slight reach
UCB - match
Washington Univ. in St. Louis - depending on amount of interest you have demonstrated, match

ahhh thanks SO much.
yea HYPS IS reach for everyone... URRGG lol

Should I work on SAT for JHU?

also if I'm interested in foreign relations, won't Georgetown be harder?

jimbob1225, why is that? is ACT easier or something? since those colleges I listed want SAT II, they'll see my SAT I neway, right?

I know for sure that if you take the ACT and send it to Yale, they do not require SAT II.

The SAT is better for some people; the ACT is better for others. I personally prefer the ACT.

but they're diff. format and I'm scared!!!! lol
I think ACT is better, too cuz it actually has something that we learned in HS courses.

but I CAN put SAT II on Yale app, right?

Sure yeah. But do try the ACT, it won't hurt...I mean you probably do have to pay but it's worth a try. Why be scared? You haven't got much to lose, not like you're gonna fail.

wowser- yes you can still put the SAT II on Yale app, and they will look at it if you do. But they don't require it.

Do as you think is best for you. Good luck.

thankx! (10 char)

wowser147:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB: Match

ooooo...
not CA resident... VA
so i guess UCB is a slight reach then?

school is pretty competitive... but the avg sat score is 1200???

yep
I was surprised myself....

but you know Thomas Jefferson HS for sci and tech nearby has avg. 1400

Good, solid ECs and IIs. Study over the summer and retake the SATs again. But, don't worry about it too much. If you study hard and well, you'll definately break 2100 or even 2200. I took it in December of 2005 got 2060, retook it in april and got 2220. So, raising your scores for HYS are not out of the picture. In short, you chances are good

thanx! (10 char)

i thought you meant out of 2400 so i was like WHAT THE HCK???

oh lol
sorry.
yea the avg. is out of 1600 scale.

any more advises?

What are my chances at DUke?
