Honestly, Can i go anywhere?

I really don't know where to apply. I want to go to UMass or UConn but i really don't think i will get in.

I only got a 1470 on my SATs(510 math, 500 CR, 460 writing) and my GPA is only a 3.0. Not to mention i am out of state(i live in NY), and i dont have many ECs(did a few hours of community service).

So where should I apply? I'd rather not go to a state school considering they aren't very good. Any suggestions?

Hahaha. First I saw 1470 and I was like, "well, that's not that bad." Then I saw it was including writing. Oh man.

dude, i know ppl who beat u on the original test, i was only like 20 pts off, wow, retake them bro

study hard! SAT is a test, it can be done!

The fact that you're on here is good, it probably means you care more than most UMass students. UMass doesn't look at much other than GPA and SAT scores, and despite what other people may tell you on this site a 3.0 IS NOT BAD. I would recommend retaking the SAT's, since 1010 is kind of borderline for UMass. You're not a lock at UMass (Amherst that is, if you wanted to go to Boston or Lowell you would be), but you definitely have a shot.

I don't really know much about UConn.

there are tons of places where you can go.
but you have to clarify a little...you say you dont want to go to a state school...but you want to go to uconn or umass?

I meant i dont want to go to a school in Ny.

i got a 1620 on the new SAT with a 3.0 gpa, much like you, and i got into UMASS amherst
