Honestly what are my chances to get into ANY college?

As I was lackadaisical in my attitude toward my studies throughout high school my chances of getting into a good university are slim to none. Without diverging on a tangent, issues such as trying to help a struggling friend with his cocaine addiction, family divorce, and mono during my junior year contributed to my rather poor statlist for college applications. Now that I have turned over a new leaf, i feel that I am ready to tackle the challenges of the college environment. However, I fear that my poor track record will prevent me from attending a good school within Texas or elsewere. Eyes set on either A&M or UT, it will be a dream come true if I am granted admission to either school. How badly will my horrible class rank affect my chances? What are my chances to get into both universities? Furthermore what universities should I look into applying to for out of state?

Lastly, can you suggest me some "reach schools", "match schools", and "safety schools"?

Please help me =/

Well your chances of getting into “ANY” college are outstanding. I can’t say for UT or A&M, since I know nothing of the school, but your stats are pretty impressive.

You’ve posted this before and people told you that you will clearly get into ‘any’ college. Don’t stress!

bump10char

Yeah I’m sure you can get into a college. Don’t exaggerate the situation. A top college? Maybe not, but surely a good one.

Swgyswgy: you’ve had multiple posters take time to tell you the same info but you insist on wanting more attention. Well it’s time to alter some of your lazy habits and put some skin into the game.

Your next destination is your guidance counselor’s office. Ask him/her about kids from your school with similar stats/interest – where are they applying and getting into. Write down a list of schools. Then investigate if any of them would interest you and which your family can afford.

I don’t know what else on earth your repeated posting of this question can garner you.

anybody else? can you suggest some schools?

Sure…TCU, SMU, Austin College, Trinity College, Southwestern University and a wide variety of Texas publics outside of UT and A&M.

Smu, Tcu, Baylor, UTA, UNT, Trinity,Tech

Anyone else? So will UT Austin or A&M not even worth the effort to apply to because I will be rejected?

Just so you know there are actually colleges with 100 % acceptance rate so no need to lose hope lol :)
