My son is starting UF in the fall and registered for Honors Calc 3 (MAC 3474). There are no book requirements for his class/section on the UF Bookstore site, but someone in the math dept. told me that it is the same as regular Calc 3. Using the UF site to search for the general MAC 2313 textbook requirements, the texts come up as follows:

Required Material(s)
ACP CALCULUS VOLUME 3 Buy This Item
New $41.75 [In-Stock] Author:Stewart Edition:
ISBN:9780495458333

Choose - Please select from the following...(see section information for more details)
BNDL: CALCULUS: EARLY TRANSCENDENTALS Buy This Item
New $239.50 [In-Stock] Author:Stewart Edition:6th
ISBN:9781111021474

Recommended Material(s)
Calculus: Multivariable (SSM) Special Order [Contact Bookstore]
Author:Stewart Edition:6th
ISBN:9780495012283

These are expensive!!! If I try to find used books and search for that Early Transcendentals ISBN on other sites, I come up empty. Surely, there has to be a better way. My son has a collection of Calculus texts already just because he loves math. I can't imagine spending almost $300 for one class.

Does anyone have experience with this textbook and why it might be so difficult to find somewhere else? Also, can anyone explain the "BNDL:" and if the recommended material is necessary? Thanks in advance!!
