So I'm getting ready to go to orientation for freshman year at IU and I am wondering whether to take regular or honors classes. I am a direct admit to kelley and hutton but I also want to be able to have a social life during my freshman year.
Which of these classes should I take honors or regular? Are there any that I should stay away from?
Math-M 118 or Math S 118 Finite
BUS-C 104 Business Presentations or C106 (honors)
BUS-K 201 The Computer in Business or K204 (honors)
ECON-E 201 Microeconomics or S201 (honors)

M-118 and E-201 could be bothersome. You may want to explore the on-line course during summer at Ivytech (1st link) if you are an OOS student. For instate student, you can take these two at any IU campus. Also, I think that you may test out M118 per the 2nd link. Not sure how difficult it is.

I hope that you know how to check your professors by the following two links:

C106 and K204 would be the easiest grading honors classes of the four. I wouldn’t take them both the same semester, as they each have a lot of group work which would make meeting for group work more difficult.

I would take K204 first semester. A lot of people take K204 first semester and do peer tutor for K201 or K204 in spring semester; it looks good on your resume. Peer tutor is described here
[Technology Foundations: K201: Department of Operations & Decision Technologies : Kelley School of Business: Indiana University](<a href=“Operations & Decision Technologies | Operations & Decision Technologies | Indiana Kelley”>Operations & Decision Technologies | Operations & Decision Technologies | Indiana Kelley)

If you take C106, Vargo grades much easier than Bailey-Hughes.

If you are trying to protect your gpa, as a direct admit, you can take macroeconomics and finite in summer at community college; these are tough grading classes at IUB. All you need to transfer the credit from your cc to IUB is a C or above at the cc; the cc grade will not be recorded on your IUB transcript.

Glomm is a very hard grader for S201. Some profs grade it easily, but Graf is teaching it in fall and I don’t think he has taught it before, so the grading would be risky.
