Good luck, Knightforum!
I would think a 29 ACT + 4.23 GPA would get you in…

What was your original ACT score? Mine is a 27 but I’m retaking it in June, hoping for a 29.

What was your original ACT score? Mine is a 27 but I’m retaking it in June, hoping for a 29.

Orginally I had a 26, 27 if you superscore, & a 1250 SAT.

But I don’t think they superscore… if they did I would have a 30 then.

The 35 that I got in English helped a lot. I am glad that I was able to master that section.

I got accepted with a 29 ACT.
I’m taking it again this summer though,
for financial aid purposes.

Have you heard anything yet Knightforum? I’m hopin’ for ya!

Karlea, for what financial aid?

Thank you dance2nite926!

They have not decided yet. I will update when I know.

The higher your ACT is, the more financial aid you get.
I got a $30,000 scholarship, but it’s spread out all 4 years.
So I’m going for ANYTHING more.

Oh you are talking about the OOS scholarships.

Is there a cutoff date for that? Or is it just until funds run out, because I would assume that funds are running low about now?

I know better ACT = more financial aid, but I thought that the April (or June at the latest) date was the cutoff if you are an entering freshman for this year…

I think the end of June is. And the ACT will be toward the beginning/middle.

I got in!!
I am extremely excited.

I didn’t know that I had to pay $125 though.

Congrats!!! Yeah that surprised me too. but i guess its a one time thing and will help things like activities so i guess it is going to be worth it

I have been wanting to be in Honors for the longest time, so I think it is definetly worth it. I didn’t think that I would get in, this is a relief. Now I just need to come up with the money.

Couple Questions:

Since I will be starting in the summer, will I be able to register for my summer classes during the Honors orientation, since it is a fall orientation?

Is there anyone here who will be in Honors not going to live in Towers? I don’t think I will since it is about $1000 more a semester than Apollo.

Congrats!! That’s awesome!

If I get into Honors (next year), I won’t live in the Towers. I can’t afford like $8000 just for my housing alone (unless I never ate).

The kitchen and the single rooms are what attracts me to Towers. But if I live in Apollo I could just make simple meals in my dorm and maybe go to the dining hall every once in a while… it would be cheaper.

I’m not saying the Towers aren’t nice… because they are. But they’re wayyy too expensive and require an annual contract.

I’m planning on doing the same thing in my dorm too. Tv dinners and Easy Mac!

I got into honors and a friend of mine did as well. She’s staying in Towers because it is a really nice community and one of the nicer perks from being part of the honors college. However, I chose not to because I really don’t have the money for that. One of the reason I chose UCF over UF was because UCF offered me scholarships which I needed badly to help me pay for dorm. Getting a dorm that costs $1000 more each semester would kinda be counterproductive =/

UCF offered you more money than UF?

^^^
UCF offers much more money than UF. My d’s going to UF because UCF doesn’t have her program, but she turned down a significant amount of scholarship money, including scholarship money from the burnett honors college which we weren’t expecting. UF has offered her nothing in merit aid (because she’s national merit commended and not a finalist), and that’s with a 4.0 u.w. GPA (UF GPA 4.6+)and a 35/36 ACT score. We’ll be a split family and very proud of both kids and both schools, I’m sure … but it sure would have been nice to see some merit aid from UF.

zebes

That’s good to hear. I had heard UF gave tons of merit aid and UCF gave very little. My mom keeps insisting on me applying to UF, even though they don’t have any majors I like… And Zebes- your daughter has some great “stats!”
