Honors - College of Natural Sciences

I might go the Open House! I’m sort of deterred by the (somewhat) long drive though…

Wait so let me get this straight…have all the acceptance letters for DS and Health Science Honors been sent out already?

Thanks eaglemom10!

And I hope you can make it 808drum! I live in a northwest Austin suburb, so driving is only about thirty minutes (or an hour+ in traffic -__-).

And I just got another acceptance today for Turing Scholars Honors, the relatively new honors program in computer science emphasizing research.

jbrown: WOW! Congrats. How did you receive your Turing notice? Was it snail mail, email., update to status? Thx!

I received it late last evening by email. And thanks again (:

So does anyone know if the honors acceptances for Natural Sciences: DS, TS, HSH are complete? Has anyone received a rejection email/letter?

My D was accepted OOS into CNS but no word regarding DS or HSH. Really hoping there are more acceptances but it looks kind of grim.

She also got invited to the VIP event like your S eaglemom.

@stillwater: I’ve seen other honors programs are sending rejections. So, until that rejection is in hand, they aren’t finished! Keep the faith.

There are apparently three rounds of acceptances, correlating to three open-houses. Several of my friends have verified this. On the other hand, if the third round does exist, it means these applications will be given more scrutiny and time.

This may be a little off-topic, but what is this VIP event thing that everyone’s talking about? I’m aware that it’s only for certain invited people only? If that’s the case, why did I not receive anything about this? I don’t mean to sound arrogant or anything here, but with my stats I think I’d be among the top of the incoming class…once again, I don’t mean to come off as conceited, I’m just curious. Maybe they haven’t sent out all the letters about the event yet?

I think all invites have been sent out. It might depend on your college though. Engineering is already completely booked.

The VIP event is an open-house for potential students. Check your UT EID account to see if you’ve been invited.

I don’t know if its on your uteid account. I received an email and a letter. Most everyone got theirs the same too

Has anyone from OOS received an acceptance from Dean’s scholars?

(Does anyone know if they have already sent out all the acceptance letters?/do they notify of rejections?)

I have a friend who was rejected from DS a few days after he was accepted into UT CNS through e-mail (Around 2/20). From what I’ve heard, no one from my school has been accepted yet.

My D received acceptance into Health Science Honors today via snail email. She is very happy for the opportunity and is definitely a premed, CNS, Neurobiology major.

I guess S is still in the running. No rejection yet. :)

I know that transfer students can apply for DS, but can they also apply for HSH?

So apparently I’ve been waitlisted for Health Science Honors…any chance I’ll get accepted off the wait-list?
