Hi, I am a rising senior and am looking at Michigan State for next year. I noticed that you have to have a 30 on the ACT to be considered for the honors college. I was wondering if they make exceptions to that, I have a 29 on the ACT and a 4.0. Will I automatically not be considered for the honors college because of my act?

Nah. If you’re close, they’ll look at you, and likely invite you. If they don’t for some reason, you can submit an essay to supplement your stats.

My daughter had a 32 ACT and 4.0 weighted gpa and was not invited to the honors college.

Sorry, I neglected to add that you should also be in the top 5% of your class. Not sure if that was the case with your daughter or not…

Just a fyi. My daughter was not admitted to the honors college as an entering freshman. However, she was invited to join after her first semester based on grades.
