Honors Medical Scholars Program

Has anyone received a decision yet? My son got an email that the decision for admission would be the week of March 19.

My daughter got a similar email. Do you know if they send notification through email or snail mail? She is an oos student from GA.

as far as i know, there are no decisions yet. what we’re waiting for right now is to see whether or not we got an interview. the next round will be final decisions.
and nope, i haven’t heard anything yet. “Week of march 19th” probably means Friday :p

Thanks for the updates!

so has anyone gotten a notification yet?

I got an email on Thursday afternoon with an interview invitation. Good luck to everyone who applied!

So if we didn’t receive anything, does that mean we were rejected?

ok i dont know if that email thing is true BUT i called today and they said they sent notifications through MAIL last friday so they should get here today/tomw. i’m not in town soo ill be waiting for a while lol has anyone gotten a mail?

Did you get any input from them as to whether they send both interviews and rejections through regular mail; because some places send interviews through email and rejections through regular mail?

Interview invitations were sent by e-mail last week (I believe Thursday)

Yes, those given interviews were also told in the email that they would receive something in the mail within the next week. Not sure about rejections but I would have thought we would all hear something at the same time.

I’m not too impressed with FSU right now. You would think they would have notified those that were rejected instead of just leaving us wondering if any decisions had been made yet.

Never Forget!

You’re a commodity,institutions have no conscious.

Can people post their stats(both Invitation and Rejection) so future applicants can get an idea as to what they are looking for? The situation is not clear as only 2 people seem to have got interviews when there were 95 applicants.

-Ranked in the top 7% in a class of ~125-130.

To all future applicants, I have a very important piece of advice:

RURAL MEDICINE.

If you look at FSU’s College of Medicine, they are geared towards primary care and rural medicine. I was fortunate enough to come from a small community and the hospital I volunteered at gave me the opportunity to come in contact with elderly people which I’m sure helped my application. I also showed a passion for primary care in my application which should have helped.

Hopefully my interview goes well, fingers crossed!

Good luck to all future applicants :)

D1 is a 3rd year med student at FSU Med now. Rural and underserved medicine are not essential. The sky is the limit, the key is passion for medicine.

Good luck to all candidates!

@parent2noles:

I didn’t mean that rural medicine is essential. Although they allow you to freely study almost any field of medicine, interest in rural medicine/under-served communities is a plus.

Gotcha. ;)

The Truth - You have excellent academic credentials. If the undergraduate medical program does not work out I hope you still attend FSU for work in physics, for example.

D1 applied to FSU Med as an FSU graduate. The traditional path still works as well. Good luck!
