Honors or AP NSL? Need advice!

Currently, i’m registered for honors NSl, but I am wondering now if I should switch to AP NSL (was recommended for it). i have to decide fast before its too late to get it switched by my counselor. originally, I decided to take honors because i wanted more during sophomore year to study for standarized testing, participate in more ec’s, earn more service hrs for my graduation requirement, and etc.

my other classes include:

-honors english 10
-honors precalc
-honors biology
-spanish 4/5
-one semester of health, another for a research class
-tech class (design tech solutions, you learn some comp. programming, etc)

and… AP or honors NSL ( U.S. gov. and politics)?

i’m just concerned whether i’ll be able to handle this. i mean, towards the end of year, i stayed up pretty late doing hw/studying, mainly b/c of procrastination and poor study skills. however, i’m planning on changing that.

i mean, at times i can be diligent, and overall i did fine in my previous social studies classes, and im capable of dedicating myself to work hard, but im unsure about how it would turn out for ap nsl. i really want to take it, but i heard you won’t have time for anything else if you took it, you read like 40 pgs a night and take lengthy notes on it, etc.

so, i would like your advice about the class before i decide…including your experience taking it. i would appreciate your insight! thanks!

bump!!!

what is nsl?

The OP said “and… AP or honors NSL ( U.S. gov. and politics)?”

Sorry if that kinda sounded standoffish.

That said, it really depends on the teacher, and what you think would be the best for you. At our school, we have an amazing AP Gov teacher (who went to Brown. An Ivy League educated teacher is somewhat hard to come by.), and so I would recommend that to you. What have you heard from others? Is there a substantial difficulty between the two classes?

yeah, some say it was easy, others say its a ton of work…so theres kind of a contradiction in opinions…
