If you're accepted into Rutgers, but how do you know if you're accepted into the honors program? Would it say so on your status website or when you get a letter in the mail?

you get it in the mail.

jm816:

You would be notified via a separate letter in the regular mail. This information
would not be posted on your status page.

If you meet the requirements: i.e. for SAS :: 1350 SAT(1600), 650 on CR portion and in top 10% of your class -- 30 on ACT if no SAT -- you should qualify. If your school does not submit GPA for admission, check to see if they submit for scholarships and request that they do so; otherwise, you will need to fill out the honors application. This requires another essay and teacher recommendations (not 100% sure of this). The submission deadline is the end of February (28th).

You could also give the honors admission office a call or drop them an e-mail.

Good luck!!

For the teacher recommendations - can I just use the same recommendations that I submitted when I applied to the school? Or do I need to get my teachers to write separate recs?

I guess you could if you really want to. Just ask your teachers to mention how you're qualified for the hp somewhere in there.
