I'd just like to bump this thread and encourage anyone who got accepted to tell their stats and how long it took from sending the essay until getting accepted. Thanks.

I too am wondering when they will make decisions on this.

When I e-mailed my essay, they replied with a message saying that it could take up to two months, but that they were dedicated to letting me know as soon as possible.

So, to sum up the responses:
You apply to honors AFTER you get accepted. I have a question though: If you get accepted rolling, do you have to say that you are going there before you get in to honors. For example, can you get in to the honors program and then wait to use this factor in your decision to go there, or they must be sure that you are going there next year?

mrm, no you don't have to accept the admissions offer before you get into honors. So if you get into honors soon enough, you can use it as a factor in your decision of where to attend.

For reference, my D just got into honors last week (w/o an essay), she was accepted 12/15.

What was her act/sat/etc.

I sent in the essay in early December, got accepted to umich back in early November, haven't heard anything.

shoot, i havent written my essay yet, but will finish it by the end of this week... does that kill my chances or anything?

Epsilon,
Sorry, can't post stats, but she is a Shipman nominee, so she's in that range.

Yeah, Shipman people are the top % of the entire class, so that makes sense.

Thanks

if i got accepted about a week ago, am i still eligible for scholarships? (jan 26).
if so, when should i find out?

I read a few places that all the scholarships were already handed out. Don't quote me on it though.

For applying to the honors program, who do we email and what essay do we write? Is there some page online that explains this, because I can't find any.

Also, as far as honors housing, does it matter when we accept the offer to be gauranteed it. I know they say you should confirm the offer by March 1st for priority choice, but if someone were to confirm by May 1st, would they be at a significant disagavantage in choosing housing.

Honors Program will send you an letter after you got accepted saying what essay you can write which ARE optional. Thus, I'd wait until they send you the invitation to do so.

Huh? I thought that the honors letter was an invitation to APPLY. I got that and I know I'm not in it. I sent the essay in December, and they haven't contacted me yet.

I think Jenn meant after you get accepted to U of M, not honors.

thanks zuzusplace. that's what i meant =]

Oh, ok. Got it.

should i apply to honrs if i applied to ross pre-admit?
