I had called them and and expressed particular interest in the UMich honors program. I just called out of curiosity wondering where I stood on a decision for the honors program. They informed me that they have accepted a certain number, and are deciding how many to accept off of the waitlist. Yes, they have a waitlist.. and they informed me that I'm about 20/500 on the list so I found that to be encouraging. She estimated that they'll take 100 from the list.. so now that I'm in good standing for being admitted... how is the honors program? Has anyone experienced it... and is it best to pick honors housing? Thanks

Does anyone know anything about the engineering honor's program too? Is it something they automatically consider you for or does one have to apply for it? I'd like to get into the honors program if I can.

To my knowledge there's only an honors program in LSA.... but we'll leave it to Alexandre to give us the for sure.

There is no honors program in engineering.

Well, perhaps you won't believe it until you hear it from Alexandre's mouth but I'll back up boysmom. Right off their website:

Q: Is there an Honors Program in Engineering and how do I apply?

A: The College of Engineering provides a very challenging curriculum with great opportunities to select a minor as well as incorporate a number of credits from the hundreds of courses offered throughout the University. A formal honors program is not a part of the Engineering curriculum, although engineering students can take honors sections of courses offered by the Honors Program in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts.

The housing is better. Right where you want to be, but the other people might not be as "lively" as in the pure freshman dorms.

I should have checked their site first. Thanks!
