If a Hispanic student is a National Merit Semi-Finalist, will UGA know that the student is automatically a National Hispanic Scholar? Should be listed as separate Honors/Awards? Does it matter if AP Scholar is not specifically listed as an Honor/Award, since the application shows the number and scores of the AP tests? I think admissions would know based on the number and scores what, if any, AP award the student received.

I can’t recall the application format for UGA. If there is a space limit I would leave out the AP Scholar, you are correct the admissions will know x APs at 3 or more = AP scholar.

I would definitely include National Hispanic Scholar and congratulations. Wishing you all the best in the next stage on NM.

Thank you, Gibson1514. I agree that listing National Hispanic Scholar is more significant than listing AP Scholar. There are only 4 spaces for honors/awards. If National Hispanic Scholar is listed separately in addition to National Merit Semifinalist, then another award cannot be listed, since 2 other awards will be kept. Is it really necessary to list National Hispanic Scholar when National Merit Semifinalist is already listed and the student is identified as Hispanic on the application? Eliminating NHRP allows the listing of yet another award.
