hope to be c/o of '14! advice?!

Yea, I'm only a junior in high school but I am so set on NYU! I'm not sure which school yet. I've wanted to major in business for the longest time but until recently, I don't know anymore. I kind of want to become a teacher but I do like business (marketing). So either Steinhardt or Stern.

Anyways, I need some info beforehand about everything. I know junior year is critical but right now, I only have 4 academic classes! English, French 3, pre-calculus, and APUSH. But I also have a period for Speech & Debate class. I was going to TA for a period to use as my FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) period because I'm an officer and have an unscheduled 6th period. Would this look bad on my college apps? I'm not sure whether to take physics or not but I'm also thinking about java (computer-type class).

Is it bad that I haven't had any honors/APs up until this year? And even then, it'll only be one AP class. But hopefully, by senior year, I'll have 4 APs under my sleeve for college apps.

I was planning to ED but from reading other threads, I'm probably going to have to RD because I'm going to need a lot of FA. I haven't taken any tests yet and I haven't even signed up for prep classes.

Any suggestions/advice to help me up my chances with NYU??

Get those 4 APs under your belt. Are you taking the hardest courseload available at your school? If yes, that's fantastic. Study hard for the SAT and SAT IIs, and continue pursuing the EC's you love. That's about it, I guess.

Get straight A's, manage a 2150 on your SAT, (2250 if you're applying to Stern), a 5 on the US AP exam, and passionately follow an EC or two, and you're set.

I don't know your stats, but NYU FA sucks really badly. You might want to consider University of Chicago, BU, Columbia, or CUNY Honors - similar locations (as in city wise), similar-level academically/prestige-wise but good/better FA. Best of luck, junior year is the time to work really hard.

LOL did you really post this at 4:59 AM?

This is the best advice anyone can give you: Do NOT slack off. Don't do it, don't think about it, don't talk about it, and avoid it at all costs.

Don't TA.......

Damn, I didn’t even know I got replies o.o. & loll maybe where you’re located, I posted at 4:59 AM. But I live in CA so…1:59 AM for me! haha.

I totally f-ed up my junior year -____________________________- But I’m not applying to NYU anymore.
