hopeful transfer sophomore

I guess i'm just hoping someone will tell me i will get in, but i guess i'll just throw this out there, kind of want the honest truth even if it is bad.

my grades sucked in high school, i went to a private school, and i hate using this excuse but I had add that wasnt diagnosed until after i graduated. i started being medicated, and i went from a 2.8 in high school to a 3.5 now in college.
my sats were decent, 1310 or a 2020.

i hear unc doesnt care if youre instate or out of state, and i am out of state, ive also heard that they normally take 3.2-3.4s? im asian, and i hate using that excuse too to get into school, im pretty sure thats how i even got in to college. thanks for any feedback

I could have sworn UNC is a school that shows high favoritism toward in-state applicants...

The OP is correct; residency doesn't come into play with transfers (except for tuition purposes).

Does my residency status affect my chances for admission?

No, for transfer students, residency status only affects the cost of tuition. For more information about residency, click here.

I can't seem to get the link to work, but if you check out the admissions page, faq's, you'll find more information about it.

Well that's good news
