Does anyone know if applying to UT's College of Liberal Arts (COLA) as undeclared will delay a person's acceptance? Would they evaluate those students credentials last?

I ask because I see people receiving acceptance notifications like everyday now and I know COLA releases a lot of their decisions before the various other schools do so I'm starting to get worried.

Any advice you have on the matter would be GREATLY appreciated since I can hardly take my mind off it. Thanks in advance and congratulations to all those who have been lucky enough to get that weight of their shoulders, haha.

I wouldn’t worry too much just yet. Some schools have not even released decisions and for those that have the first wave is often directed towards applicants just short of “auto-admits” (i.e. perfect GPAs, exceptional qualifications, etc.). After that the bulk of the applicant pool has to be sorted through. COLA is a big school and receives a lot of applicants.
At this point in time lack of word from any of the schools is not an indicator of anything other than that your application is still under review. Just take it to mean you haven’t gotten in - yet!

Thanks alot for that advice. I figured the the first round was most likely auto admits. I have a 3.51 GPA and I heard that anything over a 3.5 should get me into COLA so I was starting to psych myself out.

i applied to the COLA at UT for FALL 2013
stats:
College: UNT
GPA: 3.6
Credits: 31 completed (15 from UNT)
Essays: decent
not really much ECs
what do my chances look like? thanks everyone for the feedback it’s greatly appreciated
