I want to major in Petroleum Engineering at A&M!!

but there's a problem, I'm a freshman at Blinn, and I barely went to class for a large portion of this semester due to some serious personal issues and depression.

I should come out with an A in sociology, but other than that, I was dropped from English and should probably have a D or F in Intro Chem. and College Algebra.

Before my freshman year I took six classes through dual credit at Blinn. I made all high A's for the first 3 semesters(US History I, US History II, English 1301, and Fed. Govt), but my last semester of my senior year in HS, I dropped out of dual credit due to similar personal issues. Although, those classes (Engl. 1302, State Govt.) didn't count as F's because I withdrew from the entire college by dropping both.

So after a first semester of being an ass and not having any direction....I finally put my head into picking a major and I did.

Now I've registered for the appropriate classes for my degree plan and I'm ready to do work, but I'm really wondering how a semester of dicking around will affect my later college career and how I can overcome those mistakes admissions wise..

I'm still at Blinn until I can transfer to A&M, which is what I hope I haven't ruined my chances of doing.

any helpful advice/personal anecdotes would be much appreciated,

Thanks, John
