Horrible GPA for an upper UC...what's enough to make up for it?

<p>Volunteer/work/internships:
AVID tutor, two years
14 hrs a week working as a swim instructor
Summer internship out of the country at a university (didnt do TOO much there)</p>

<p>Essays and recs: Not too shabby, dunno if they'd count as SPECTACULAR</p>

<p>thanks guys! i'd really just like a realistic view of if I could get into Berkley, LA, and SD</p>

<p>You look reasonable for the top UCs. While your GPA is a bit below average, your SAT is well above. Strong shot for SD and decent shot at Cal and LA.</p>
