does cornell have a hospital nearby or something, in which premed students can do volunteer work in?

http://www.cayugamed.org/employment/volunteeropps.cfm

thanks
how far is this from campus?
do you need to drive?
do they take a lot of cornell students?
whats the situation... any feedback is greatly appreciated
thank you

is there a bus service to the hospital?

try yahoo maps or google maps for the driving distance/directions

check with TCAT for bus schedules/routes

Bus 21 I believe. It's pretty easy to get accepted as a volunteer although you won't get to do much. Typical hospital volunteering. Bleh

y wont i get to work as much

Because you're not qualified to do anything.

Sexy123 there is also a program run by the university that places students in a volunteer positions working with regional physicians that will become a mentor for you. i think the application session is closed for the fall (they took aps in may) but there will be information sessions about itin the fall and when we have our orientation at humec (preprofessional) the premed advisor said she would mention all those opportunities. there is also urban semester.

i would definitely go look around the cornell site first and start your research there. that is what i did and it has definitely paid off.

a quick 3 digit phone call with get you to cayuga medical extremely fast. No need for a car, they'll provide transportation.

also, sexy123...

please for the love of god stop posting the same questions on 3-4 different threads. You even start your own thread on a topic and then re-post the question on any other thread with "cornell" and/or "transfer".

It's like a children's chorus bantering a bus driver with echos of "are we there yet? are we there yet?" on a multi state journey to hell.

lol, i agree w/ you, gomestar...

Vcoleman, do you know the name of the program that places students in a volunteer positions working with regional physicians? Thanks.

Vcoleman, where on the cornell website... where have u been looking? what site?

gomestar, go ahead and buy urself a life

there's plenty of opportunities around cornell. there's EARS, a peer counseling (that requires like 2 years commitment or something) you could be a GANNETT peer counselor (although they only take applications every other year), there's EMS, etc. if you find yourself stumped, just go to the premed counselor of your college and he/she will give you more options.

how selective are these activities?

"gomestar, go ahead and buy urself a life"

i have enough money, I'll look into.

But seriously, stop hijacking other threads with the identical question time after time. It's annoying.

lol......you're not there yet sexy123

where yet?

the end of the multi state bus journey to hell
