hotels on FSU bus line

Hello,

We are traveling down to FSU for a visit and would like to know which hotels are on the FSU bus line.

Can anyone give us any tips? We will probably not be renting a car.

Can we rent bikes? Any hotels within biking distance? We are looking for $100 or less 3 star (ish) I see the Quality Inn and Suites on Apalachee Pkwy looks good but is not on the bus system. There is a rate for $68/night. Perhaps we should get it and just pay for the car

Actually, getting a car is much cheaper than I thought. We will have a car. Does anyone have any advice for a hotel with the parameters I mentioned above?

There are plenty of hotels within walking distance. Don’t think you’ll find any decent one for under $100 though.

Try Four Points by Sheraton Tallahassee Downtown. http://www.fourpointstallahasseedowntown.com/ My husband stayed here and liked it. It’s close to campus. They even offer free bikes to check out. I just booked a room for $150 that includes breakfast.

Now that you’ll have a car it really opens up your options. There’s a bunch of hotels along Apalachee that are only a few miles from campus. The Four Points by Sheraton is just a couple blocks from the northeastern edge of campus but is a tad bit out of your price range.

Knowing when you are going to visit helps, too. A lot of hotels around campus and in downtown tend to raise prices during busy weekends (because they know they can charge whatever they want and people still will rent the room).

Some hotels to start would be the Wyndham Garden on Apalachee and the Courtyard by Marriott on Apalachee. Both came up as 3-star hotels under or around $100/night for a random weekend I picked and are only a couple miles away from campus.

Most other 3 or 4 star hotels will run $150+/night for most weekends.

Thanks for all your input. We are coming from the airport so I took hotels that were on that route. Right now we are booked at the Baymont Inn and Suites on North Monroe about 15 minutes from campus for $70 per night. Trying to keep the costs reasonable since we are paying for plane tickets. I can’t see to find anything better that is not a total dive for less than $100. This is a 2.5 star (? 3 on some sites) and has a trip advisor rating of 3.5/5. If anyone comes up with anything better for next weekend let me know. We have never been to the area. Perhaps once we get there we will wish we were within walking distance. I am not sure how much of a headache the traffic is in this area.

I see the Wyndham Garden for around $100 but on hotels.com it has a 3.2 out of 5 rating and the one I booked (Baymont suites) has a higher rating. Not sure why that is. We don’t need a lot of high quality. Mostly need quiet and clean.

My parents stayed at the Baymont on Monroe for graduation last year.

Granted they paid a lot more than $70/night but they found it underwhelming for the price they paid.
