Which house is the best and why? Lets try and get an overall consensus.

It depends on what you want.

If you want a social atmosphere...then quad
If you want a tigher community...then hill or gregory
If you want peace and quiet for study...then stouffer
If you want huge apartments...then mayer
If you want a regular apartment...then high rises
If you want an all african american dorm...then dubois
If you want a nerdy dorm...then KCEH (just kidding, although KCEH is known for having two major characteristics - being very asian and nerdy, no offense to anyone)

Just to warn you, I have heard that Hill is not so great...it has a cafeteria and such but my RA's this summer complained about it everyday

How does penn's dorms compare to Harvard's?

yeah hill isn't really the nicest place. The community atmosphere from what I hear is nice but other than that the building kind of sucks.

tennispro: The dorms I saw at harvard were really nice. The only dorms comparable at penn are some dorms in the quad. Penn's housing is not the nicest.

the highrises (except harnwell which is being renovated this summer) are real nice, but you generally don't want to live in those places until after freshman year.
